The Object

Solid in the handmagnetic at the base

The Jeksen is a tapered brass column set directly into the floor with a magnetic hold at the base — the door swings to it and stays. No catch, no clip, no visible mechanism. The decorative base shows the kind of detailing you'd find on better architectural hardware: intricate enough to register up close, clean enough to disappear into the room. In black, gold, or brown.
Why you'll love it
  • Solid brass construction — weight and durability built in
  • Integrated magnetic hold — door stays without catching
  • Tapered form with detailed decorative base
  • Prevents wall and door damage from sudden movement
  • Three finishes: black, gold, brown — floor-mounted
Details

No wiring, just placement — mark where the door should stop, drill, and secure.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — floor-mounted or wall-mounted depending on design; check your product details for correct placement
  • Magnetic door stop — holds the door open with a magnet
  • Standard door stop — fixed post or bumper style that protects walls and furniture

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips or flathead), drill and drill bits
  • Screws and anchors, measuring tape, pencil, level, Allen key

Step by step

  1. Floor-mounted — mark placement — open the door fully and mark the point on the floor where the stop prevents wall or furniture contact.
  2. Floor-mounted — drill pilot holes — position the baseplate on the mark and drill. Use anchors for concrete or tile.
  3. Floor-mounted — secure the stop — attach with the provided screws, tight but not overtightened.
  4. Floor-mounted — test — swing the door open to confirm smooth contact.
  5. Wall-mounted — choose placement — close the door gently, mark the contact point on the wall at the correct height.
  6. Wall-mounted — drill and anchor — drill pilot holes and insert wall plugs if required.
  7. Wall-mounted — attach — fix the stop in place with the provided screws, straight and level.
  8. Wall-mounted — check alignment — open the door to confirm it meets the stop correctly.
  9. Magnetic — position the base unit — mark its location on the floor or wall, aligned with the bottom of the door.
  10. Magnetic — install the base — drill pilot holes and secure with screws.
  11. Magnetic — attach the door component — install the matching magnet piece on the door with the provided screws.
  12. Magnetic — test engagement — open the door and confirm the magnets connect securely.

Good to know

  • Always test placement by swinging the door before drilling.
  • Use wall plugs or anchors when mounting into drywall, concrete, or tile.
  • For magnetic models, align both parts before final tightening.
  • Avoid overtightening screws to protect your flooring and walls.

On the detail

Decorative baseholds more than the eye

The Jeksen's base carries the weight of the piece and conceals the magnetic mechanism. The intricate moulding at the base reads as a considered architectural detail — in scale with skirting boards and door architraves — and anchors the form so it doesn't tip or move under the pull of a heavy door.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Three qualities that make the Jeksen a permanent rather than provisional solution:
Magnetic hold

The integrated magnet keeps the door in place without a visible catch or clip on the door itself.

Solid brass

At 300 g, the Jeksen has enough weight to hold a heavy door without sliding or tipping.

Three finishes

Black, gold, and brown — each pairs with different door furniture and flooring tones.

Frequently asked

Solid brass throughout — the body, base, and magnetic mechanism housing. Brass gives the piece its weight and resists the day-to-day wear of a high-touch location near the floor.

Yes — the magnetic hold is integrated into the base. The door swings to the stop and the magnet holds it in position without any catch or clip needed on the door itself.

Yes — the Jeksen is floor-mounted in the path of the door's swing, stopping it before it reaches the wall. This prevents both wall damage and door handle impact.

Yes — it floor-mounts with a single fixing point. Drill a small pilot hole, anchor the base, and the stop is in place. No specialist tools required for standard timber and concrete floors.

Modern and classic interiors alike — the tapered brass form and detailed base work with most architectural styles. Black suits contemporary interiors; gold and brown suit warmer, more traditional schemes.

Yes — solid brass and floor mounting make the Jeksen suitable for offices, hotels, and residential lobbies. The magnetic hold is strong enough for heavier commercial-grade interior doors.

300 g — enough weight to resist tipping under a heavy door without needing a large footprint. The tapered form keeps the base small and the centre of gravity low.

Minimal — wipe clean with a dry cloth. The brass finish may develop a patina over time, which can be polished back with a brass cleaner if preferred. The magnetic mechanism requires no servicing.

Yes — the combination of solid brass weight and floor-mounted anchor point means the Jeksen holds firmly against heavy interior doors without sliding or tipping.

The Jeksen is available in black, gold, and brown. If you need a specific finish for a bespoke project, contact our team to discuss options.
