The Object

Glass conegold held inside the form

The Incus is a glass cone coated in gold, narrowing upward from a weighted iron base. A replaceable E14 LED inside turns the gold coating into a warm, amber-tinted glow that emanates from the cone itself rather than from a shade. Two sizes at 43 and 48 cm; plugs into any standard socket, switch on the cord.
Why you'll love it
  • Gold-coated glass cone — the material and the light source are one
  • Warm amber glow — the gold finish tints the LED output naturally
  • Iron base for stable, weighted footing on any surface
  • Replaceable E14 LED included — swap colour temperature to taste
  • Two sizes: 43 cm and 48 cm tall
Details

No wiring here — just unpack, place it somewhere stable, and power it on.

Before you begin

  • Placement — free-standing on stable surfaces like floors, side tables, desks, or patios; keep clear of high-traffic areas
  • Power — corded wall plug, built-in rechargeable battery, or solar panel, depending on the model
  • Indoor/outdoor — not all models are weather-resistant; confirm the rating before using outdoors
  • Dimming — some lamps include a built-in dimming switch or work with plug-in dimmers
  • Bulbs — if your lamp uses replaceable bulbs, always match the recommended type and wattage

What you'll need

  • Nothing required for most models
  • Optional: screwdriver (for battery cover or shade assembly), extension cord (for outdoor or distant outlets)

Step by step

  1. Unpack and inspect — check for damage or missing parts. If your model has a detachable shade or base, assemble per the included instructions.
  2. Choose a location — flat, stable surface where it won't be knocked over. For outdoor use, keep it dry and level, and away from water unless the lamp is explicitly water-resistant.
  3. Connect the power source — plug corded models into a nearby (weather-protected, if outdoors) outlet; insert batteries into the compartment for battery-powered models; position solar panels in direct sunlight for the initial charge.
  4. Install or check the bulb — screw it in gently and don't exceed the socket's max wattage. Integrated LED models skip this step.
  5. Turn on and adjust — use the switch, touch sensor, or remote to power it on, and adjust brightness or modes if your model supports it. Solar or motion-activated lamps may need a full charge cycle first.

Good to know

  • Follow the safety warnings printed on the lamp or in the manual.
  • Don't use indoor-only lamps outdoors.
  • Recharge or replace batteries as needed to keep performance up.
  • Clean solar panels periodically for better charging.
  • Unplug corded lamps during storms or long periods of disuse.

On the glass

Gold coatingturned into a warm light from within

The gold is applied to the inside of the glass cone rather than the outside — so when the LED comes on, the colour comes through the glass. Switch off, and the Incus reads as a cool golden object; switch on, and the whole cone becomes a warm amber glow.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Inside gold

The coating sits on the inner glass surface — the glow is tinted amber rather than white from any angle.

Iron weighted

A solid iron base keeps the tapered cone stable on tables, bars, sideboards, and shelves.

Two sizes

43 cm for a compact bedside or bar setting; 48 cm for a living room or console where more height reads better.

Frequently asked

An iron base for stability and a gold-coated glass cone body. The gold sits on the inner surface of the glass, so the LED light glows through it with a warm amber tone.

No installation required — the Incus is a plug-in table lamp. Place on any stable surface, insert the E14 bulb if not pre-fitted, and plug into a standard wall socket.

No — the Incus is for dry indoor spaces only. It suits bedrooms, bars, living rooms, and home offices; avoid anywhere with moisture or direct weather exposure.

The included E14 LED is rated at 50,000 hours under normal use — around 17 years at 8 hours daily. Replacements are standard E14 base and available everywhere.

Yes — a 1-year warranty is included, extendable to 2, 3, or 5 years on request. The warranty covers manufacturing defects; contact us if anything arrives incorrectly.

Wipe the glass cone with a dry microfibre cloth — avoid wet cloths or abrasive cleaners on the gold inner surface. Clean the iron base with a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately.

Not natively — but any smart E14 bulb (Philips Hue, IKEA Tradfri, and similar) can replace the included bulb and add app or voice control to the Incus.

The lamp itself is not dimmable — but if you replace the included bulb with a dimmable E14 LED and plug into a dimmer socket, the output will respond to the dimmer.

15W at full output. At typical residential electricity rates, that's under £0.01 per hour of use — low running cost for a lamp that stays on through the evening.

Keep the lamp away from direct water contact. When replacing the bulb, switch off and allow 5 minutes to cool before touching the glass cone or the socket.
