The Object

Stonecarved into a field of soft light

The Ikat holds natural alabaster cubes on a gold stainless-steel frame. Each 12 cm cube is cut from gypsum alabaster — the kind of stone that glows rather than reflects. Warm G9 LEDs sit inside each shade; the stone diffuses the light into a soft, even warmth that feels organic rather than manufactured. Available in six configurations from 7 to 36 lights.
Why you'll love it
  • Natural alabaster gypsum shades — each cube glows from within
  • Each shade uniquely veined — no two alike across the chandelier
  • Gold stainless-steel frame — geometric precision, warm finish
  • Six configurations from 7 to 36 lights for any ceiling
  • Replaceable G9 LED bulbs, dimmable on request
Details

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

Good to know

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

On the stone

Gypsum alabasterlit from within, not from without

Alabaster is translucent by nature — light passes through the gypsum rather than bouncing off it, which is what gives the Ikat its warm, pooled glow. Each 12 cm cube is cut from natural stone, so the veining pattern shifts from shade to shade. The gold steel frame holds the cubes in a precise geometric arrangement.

Frequently asked

Natural gypsum alabaster shades on a stainless-steel frame finished in gold. The alabaster is translucent — light glows through the stone rather than off it.

G9 LEDs are among the most efficient bulb types — low wattage per head, long life. The included bulbs are rated for 50,000 hours of use.

Yes — it hardwires to a ceiling junction box. Larger configurations (25–36 lights) are substantial; professional installation by a certified electrician is recommended.

50,000 hours — approximately 17 years at eight hours a day. When they eventually need replacing, standard G9 bulbs are widely available.

Yes — natural alabaster is a sustainable material, and the G9 LED bulbs are energy-efficient with a long lifespan, reducing both energy use and waste.

A geometric arrangement of natural stone cubes on a gold frame — each alabaster shade glows from within, creating a warm field of organic light rather than a bright point source.

Natural alabaster is robust when handled correctly. The stainless-steel frame will not tarnish or corrode. The fitting is built for permanent indoor installation.

Yes — living rooms, dining areas, bedrooms, and entryways. The 7- and 9-light configurations suit bedrooms; the 25- and 36-light versions work as statement dining-room pieces.

Yes — the G9 LEDs are warm-white and the natural alabaster diffuses the light further, softening it into an ambient glow rather than a direct beam.

The fixture and included hardware are straightforward, but the cord-mount and hardwiring should be handled by a certified electrician, especially for the larger configurations.
