A magnet is built into the base of the stop. When the door opens over it, the door's metal components are attracted to the base, holding the door in the open position without latching or clipping.
Yes. The stop intercepts the door at the base before the handle or edge can reach the wall, eliminating the impact. The contoured body absorbs contact without marking the door or floor.
Yes — a single floor screw secures the base plate. Drill a pilot hole, drive the screw, and the stop is in place. Takes approximately five minutes. Professional installation is recommended if you are unsure about floor drilling.
Yes. The Hvolpsund mounts to timber, tile, stone, and concrete floors. Use a drill bit appropriate for the floor material and the included screw will seat securely.
Yes. The zinc alloy construction and floor-mounted single-screw fixing are rated for heavy interior doors. The magnetic hold strength is sufficient for most residential door weights.
Zinc alloy does not rust. The polished surface resists light scratching and maintains its sheen with periodic wiping. Avoid abrasive cleaning pads on chrome or polished finishes.

The stop works with inward-opening doors — it catches the door at the base as it swings open. For outward-opening doors, positioning on the opposite side of the door frame achieves the same result.
