The Object

Laid out oncerearranged anytime

The HubertFolie builds from aluminium rails in black or white, joined by L, T, or straight connectors into whatever layout your ceiling needs. Fixtures snap onto the magnetic track and slide to any position — spotlight over the art, pendant over the table, floodlight at the perimeter. Add rails later as the space changes. Everything hardwired at the track; individual heads move without an electrician.
Why you'll love it
  • Magnetic mounting — slide and reposition fixtures without rewiring
  • Mix spotlights, pendants, floodlights, and grille lights on one track
  • Aluminium rails in black or white, L and T connectors included
  • Expandable — add rails and connectors as the room grows
  • Suits homes, retail spaces, studios, and galleries equally
Details

More setup than a single fixture, but still straightforward — choose your mount style, wire the power feed, then snap the light modules into place.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — four configurations: plaster-in (trimless), embedded (recessed), surface-mounted, or suspended (hanging); pick what matches your space and ceiling
  • Power — connects to a ceiling or wall junction box via an integrated power feed; some layouts use a remote or surface driver box
  • Fixtures — light modules snap magnetically into the track and can be repositioned without tools
  • Ceilings — works on flat or sloped ceilings
  • Dimming — many modules dim; always verify compatibility with your dimmer and power driver first

What you'll need

  • Drill and drill bits, screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper, wire nuts
  • Mounting anchors and screws, measuring tape, pencil, level
  • Optional: drywall saw (embedded installs), suspension cables and ceiling toggles (hanging systems)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — at your breaker panel, and confirm with a voltage tester at the junction box.
  2. Select your mounting type and prepare the surface — plaster-in requires cutting and framing the ceiling to embed the track flush, then finishing with joint compound; embedded requires cutting a slot and screwing the channel into joists; surface-mounted attaches directly with anchors and screws; suspended requires marking suspension points, installing ceiling toggles or anchor bolts, and attaching hanging wires, adjusted to your desired drop height.
  3. Connect the power feed — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure with wire nuts, tuck into the junction box, and secure the power feed cover.
  4. Join additional tracks, if your layout needs them — use magnetic or mechanical connectors, aligning the copper conductors inside the channels. Choose an I-Connector for straight runs, L-Connector (ceiling-to-ceiling) for 90° turns, L-Connector (ceiling-to-wall) for transitions, or T-Connector for three-way branches.
  5. Install the magnetic light modules — snap them into the powered channel; the magnetic system handles both the mechanical hold and the electrical contact. Modules can be repositioned or swapped anytime, tool-free.
  6. Restore power and test — check that all modules illuminate properly and that dimming or directional functions work as expected.

Good to know

  • Use only compatible magnetic fixtures and drivers as specified for your product.
  • For trimless and embedded systems, installation is easiest during construction or a remodel.
  • Secure all suspension cables and verify weight capacity for hanging mounts.
  • Avoid overtightening screws near trimless or recessed edges to keep the finish flush.
  • For complex layouts or multi-zone dimming, bring in an electrician or lighting specialist.

How it works

Snap onslide anywhere along the rail

Magnetic connectivity means each fixture locks to the track with a quarter-turn click and slides freely until you decide where it lives. There are no exposed wires between movements — the track carries power the full length, and the fixture picks it up at any point.

How the system comes together.
Magnetic snap

Each fixture clicks onto the energised rail and can be slid or removed without cutting power.

Mix freely

Spotlights, pendants, floodlights, and grille lights all share the same magnetic interface — use any combination.

Grow later

Rails connect end-to-end with standard connectors; extend the system when the room changes.

Frequently asked

A modular magnetic track lighting system — aluminium rails mount to the ceiling and carry power; fixtures snap on magnetically and slide to wherever you need the light.

Rails come in black or white in multiple lengths, joinable with L-shape, T-section, straight, or cross connectors to create the layout your space needs.

Yes — every fixture in the system uses a magnetic connector that clicks onto the live rail and can be repositioned or swapped out without switching off the track.

Yes. Spotlights, pendant lights, floodlights, and grille lights all share the same magnetic interface — combine any of them on a single run of track.

The rail hardwires to a standard junction box at one end. Once the rail is live, all fixtures draw power magnetically — no individual wiring per head.

Yes. Rails connect end-to-end with standard connectors, so you can extend the layout later without redoing the existing installation.

A certified electrician is recommended for the initial rail hardwiring. Once the rail is live, adding, moving, or swapping fixtures is a tool-free task anyone can do.

The system runs on 90–260V, covering all major markets. Integrated LEDs across the fixture range are rated at 50,000+ hours under normal use.

Traditional track lights are fixed at install. The HubertFolie's magnetic rail lets you reposition every fixture after installation — no electrician needed for adjustments.

Yes — the aluminium build, modular layout options, and range of fixture types make it well suited to retail, galleries, studios, and offices alongside home use.
