The Object

Lines in reliefdepth from a flat wall

The Heroy Wall Panel builds a geometric surface from 12 mm plywood and 5 mm solid wood accents, with a grid of intersecting lines that catches shadow differently at different times of day. It protects the wall behind it from scuffs and marks, and it wipes clean with a cloth. No painting, no fuss — just a surface that brings quiet depth to wherever you put it.
Why you'll love it
  • 12 mm plywood base with 5 mm solid wood accent strips
  • Geometric grid casts shifting shadows across the day
  • Protects walls from scuffs, dents, and everyday marks
  • Minimal maintenance — wipe clean with a damp cloth
  • Easy to install — no specialist tools required
Details

Three ways to install, depending on your panel — nail gun, peel-and-stick, or glue-on. Pick the one that matches what you ordered.

Before you begin

  • Prep — walls should be clean, dry, and smooth; remove dust, grease, nails, and flaky paint
  • Layout — measure and mark your starting line with a level and pencil, and lay out panels on the floor first to visualize placement

What you'll need

  • Tape measure, level, pencil or chalk line
  • Utility knife or fine-tooth saw, clean cloth
  • Caulk gun (if using adhesive), rubber roller (for peel-and-stick), brad nail gun (for nail gun install)

Step by step

  1. Nail gun — for thicker or heavier panels like wood/MDF. Locate wall studs with a stud finder and mark them.
  2. Nail gun — start at the bottom corner and align your first panel to your guidelines.
  3. Nail gun — fasten into studs — nails every 12–16".
  4. Nail gun — fit remaining panels tightly together and continue fastening. Fill nail holes with wood filler or color-matched putty. Optionally, add caulk between panels for seamless joints. Leave a 1/8" gap at edges for expansion.
  5. Peel-and-stick — for lightweight panels with pre-applied adhesive. Wipe the wall clean of dust and grease and let it dry fully. Measure and draw a level starting line.
  6. Peel-and-stick — peel and place — remove the adhesive backing from the first panel, align carefully, and press onto the wall starting at one edge.
  7. Peel-and-stick — roll it flat — use a rubber roller to apply even pressure, then continue placing panels tightly against each other. Avoid repositioning — the adhesive is strongest on first contact.
  8. Glue-on — for panels without adhesive, like solid PVC, composite, or acoustic. Clean the wall surface thoroughly.
  9. Glue-on — apply adhesive in an "S" or zig-zag pattern on the back of the panel.
  10. Glue-on — press into place — align to your guide marks and press firmly against the wall. Use painter's tape to hold it if needed.
  11. Glue-on — repeat and finish — continue with remaining panels, keeping spacing even and level. Wipe away any adhesive squeeze-out with a damp cloth. Let adhesive cure 24–48 hours before applying pressure or weight.

The structure

Plywood and solid wooda grid with depth

The Heroy uses two layers of material: a 12 mm plywood base for structural stability and 5 mm solid wood strips arranged in a geometric pattern. The thickness difference between the two is exactly what creates the shadow play — light skimming the surface reveals the relief rather than flattening it.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Two materials. One surface worth looking at.
Shadow play

The raised wood grid catches light and shadow, shifting subtly as the light in the room changes.

Wall protection

Shields the surface behind it from everyday damage — scuffs, dents, and furniture marks.

Frequently asked

A 12 mm plywood base with 5 mm solid wood accent strips arranged in a geometric pattern. The two-layer construction is what creates the shadow relief visible across the surface.

The solid wood strips sit proud of the plywood base, so ambient light catches their edges and casts small shadows. The pattern shifts throughout the day as light angles change.

Yes — it acts as a full-coverage shield, keeping the wall beneath safe from scuffs, dents, and everyday marks. Particularly useful in hallways, dining areas, and kids' rooms.

Wipe with a slightly damp cloth and a gentle cleanser. Avoid soaking the wood or using abrasive cleaners. Let it dry naturally — no refinishing or sealing is required.

It mounts directly to the wall — included hardware handles standard wall types. The design is straightforward enough for a confident DIY install; no specialist tools are required.

The natural wood finish can accept a stain or paint if you want to match a specific palette. We recommend testing on the back or an offcut first to confirm the finish takes evenly.

Living rooms, hallways, dining areas, and bedrooms — anywhere you want a wall to do more than just stand there. Works in modern, Scandinavian, and transitional interiors.

Yes — it ships flat to minimise damage in transit. Assembly is minimal and the instructions are included in the box. Expect delivery within 15–21 business days.

The Heroy comes with a 1-year warranty, extendable to 2, 3, or 5 years on request. We also offer a 14-day return window if it's not right for your space.

We recommend avoiding high-humidity rooms like bathrooms or steamy kitchens. Prolonged moisture exposure can warp or swell the plywood — keep it in dry interior spaces for best results.
