The Object

Layers of glasswarmth held between them

The Hedensted Pendant stacks frosted glass in tiers inside a black iron frame, so the light passes through each layer before it reaches the room — warm, scattered, and soft. The contrast between the dark frame and the lit glass is deliberate: the black iron holds the form; the frosted layers do the work. Integrated LED, adjustable cord to 1.2 m.
Why you'll love it
  • Layered frosted glass diffuses light through multiple tiers
  • Black iron frame adds bold contrast to the warm glow
  • Integrated LED — 12W (1320 lm), nothing to replace
  • Works in residential and commercial spaces
  • Adjustable cord to 1.2 m · sloped ceiling on request
Details

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

Good to know

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

On the light

Tiered glasswarmth landing level by level

Each frosted glass tier is set slightly apart from the next, so the light bounces between the layers before escaping at the edges and beneath the lowest disc. The result is a pendant that glows rather than illuminates — atmospheric rather than functional in isolation. The black iron arms and canopy keep the form grounded without adding visual weight to the glass.

What the layered glass achieves.
Through each layer

Light passes through frosted tier after tier — arriving in the room soft and scattered, not direct.

Iron contrast

Black iron frame sets off the warm glow — structure visible, light doing the talking.

Residential to commercial

Works over a dining table at home or anchors a corner in a restaurant or retail space.

Frequently asked

Frosted glass diffuser discs stacked in tiers, with an iron frame in black or white. The glass is chosen for consistent frosting across the surface; the iron is powder-coated for durability and colour stability.

The light source is an integrated LED — it's built into the pendant body, not a separate bulb. Nothing to source or replace; the LED runs at 12W and outputs 1320 lm of warm ambient light.

Integrated LED. It's sealed inside the pendant, runs at 12W (1320 lm), and is rated at 50,000+ hours. No socket, no bulb, no maintenance — just the light.

90–260V — the full range of household voltages worldwide. The Hedensted hardwires to a ceiling junction box; no adapter needed for any standard domestic supply.

1320 lm from 12W — warm and ambient in character rather than task-grade. Best used as the primary light in a smaller room or as supplementary atmosphere lighting alongside another source in a larger space.

Yes — the layered glass form works in restaurants, cafés, hotel lobbies, and retail spaces where warm ambient lighting is preferred. The black iron frame reads as deliberate and considered in commercial settings.

Yes — the layered glass and black iron read well in modern, industrial, and Scandinavian interiors. The white-frame version softens the contrast for warmer, more neutral schemes.

None — the light source is fully integrated. There is no bulb count; the LED unit runs across all the glass tiers and is sealed inside the pendant body.

Warm — the frosted glass tiers scatter the LED output and shift it toward the warmer end of the spectrum. The result is an intimate, atmospheric glow rather than a cool or clinical white.

Over a dining table, in a living room corner, or above a kitchen island. Works as a single pendant in a smaller space or in multiples at different heights over a longer table or open-plan area.
