1.5 lbs — considerably heavier than a plastic outlet. That weight reflects the solid brass construction; once mounted it sits flush and firm in the wall.
The Giske Outlet is a standard receptacle — it does not have a built-in dimming function. Dimming is controlled by the fixture or switch on the circuit, not the outlet.
The outlet itself is not a dimmer. If your circuit uses a wall dimmer switch, the outlet will pass power to whatever is plugged in as normal.
