The Object

Depthcarved into the wall itself

The Geertruiden Wall Panel is built from solid wood slats set at staggered depths, so the surface catches and releases light rather than sitting flat. Each plank carries its own grain direction — the wall reads as continuous, yet never repetitive. Acoustic properties absorb echo; the room quiets as the wall gains presence.
Why you'll love it
  • Staggered wood slats create dimensional light-and-shadow play
  • Natural grain variation means no two panels read alike
  • Absorbs room echo for a noticeably quieter space
  • Fits walls and ceilings — home or commercial settings
  • Sustainable wood source, easy adhesive or nail installation
Details

Three ways to install, depending on your panel — nail gun, peel-and-stick, or glue-on. Pick the one that matches what you ordered.

Before you begin

  • Prep — walls should be clean, dry, and smooth; remove dust, grease, nails, and flaky paint
  • Layout — measure and mark your starting line with a level and pencil, and lay out panels on the floor first to visualize placement

What you'll need

  • Tape measure, level, pencil or chalk line
  • Utility knife or fine-tooth saw, clean cloth
  • Caulk gun (if using adhesive), rubber roller (for peel-and-stick), brad nail gun (for nail gun install)

Step by step

  1. Nail gun — for thicker or heavier panels like wood/MDF. Locate wall studs with a stud finder and mark them.
  2. Nail gun — start at the bottom corner and align your first panel to your guidelines.
  3. Nail gun — fasten into studs — nails every 12–16".
  4. Nail gun — fit remaining panels tightly together and continue fastening. Fill nail holes with wood filler or color-matched putty. Optionally, add caulk between panels for seamless joints. Leave a 1/8" gap at edges for expansion.
  5. Peel-and-stick — for lightweight panels with pre-applied adhesive. Wipe the wall clean of dust and grease and let it dry fully. Measure and draw a level starting line.
  6. Peel-and-stick — peel and place — remove the adhesive backing from the first panel, align carefully, and press onto the wall starting at one edge.
  7. Peel-and-stick — roll it flat — use a rubber roller to apply even pressure, then continue placing panels tightly against each other. Avoid repositioning — the adhesive is strongest on first contact.
  8. Glue-on — for panels without adhesive, like solid PVC, composite, or acoustic. Clean the wall surface thoroughly.
  9. Glue-on — apply adhesive in an "S" or zig-zag pattern on the back of the panel.
  10. Glue-on — press into place — align to your guide marks and press firmly against the wall. Use painter's tape to hold it if needed.
  11. Glue-on — repeat and finish — continue with remaining panels, keeping spacing even and level. Wipe away any adhesive squeeze-out with a damp cloth. Let adhesive cure 24–48 hours before applying pressure or weight.

The structure

Light caughtand released between the layers

Each slat steps forward just enough to throw a soft shadow behind it. Morning light brushes the grain horizontally; evening lamplight slides down the ridges and deepens the tone. The surface shifts without moving.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Three things the Geertruiden does that flat cladding cannot.
Light Play

Staggered depths catch natural and artificial light, creating shadows that shift through the day.

Quieter Room

Wood slats absorb sound so echo settles and the room feels more contained.

Real Wood

Each plank carries distinct grain, so the wall feels alive rather than uniform.

Material & craft

Grainthat moves with the light

Each wooden plank is cut from solid wood, so the grain direction changes from piece to piece. Run your eye across the wall and the surface never reads as flat or repetitive — it shifts the way a forest floor shifts, in small and continuous variation.

Design statement

A wall that feelsbuilt, not covered

Most wall treatments sit on the surface. The Geertruiden becomes the surface — staggered slats of solid wood that step forward and pull back, so the wall holds depth you can see from across the room. In morning light, the grain reveals itself. By evening, lamplight deepens the ridges.

Frequently asked

Solid wood from sustainable sources. Each slat carries natural grain and tone variation — the surface is genuinely wood throughout, not a laminate or veneer.

Panel dimensions are listed in the product specification sheet. Contact our team for exact sizing or to request a sample before ordering.

Pack contents are specified at checkout based on your selected coverage area. Our team can help you calculate exactly how many packs your wall requires.

Yes — the panels are designed for both residential and commercial settings, including restaurants, offices, and retail interiors where acoustic comfort matters.

The staggered wood slats break up flat reflective surfaces, absorbing echo rather than bouncing sound. The difference is most noticeable in hard-floored rooms with high ceilings.

Yes — they mount with adhesive or nails directly to the wall or ceiling. No specialist tools required; most installations are completed without a tradesperson.

The panels come in natural wood tones — warm, earthy ranges that deepen slightly with age. Contact us if you need to match a specific interior palette.

No special treatment required. Dust occasionally with a dry cloth; avoid prolonged moisture exposure. The wood tone will deepen naturally over time, which most people prefer.

We recommend against installing them in high-humidity wet zones. They perform well in well-ventilated bathrooms but are not rated for direct water exposure.

Yes — the adhesive or nail installation is straightforward for a confident DIY install. Mark your layout on the wall first, work from a level baseline, and the panels lock into a clean, continuous pattern.
