Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

Is the installation process DIY-friendly?

For smaller configurations (1–6 heads) a confident DIYer can manage the wire and canopy. Larger installations (10+ heads) involve significant weight and wiring complexity — professional installation is strongly recommended.

What materials are used in the construction?

Metal rings with an integrated acrylic LED strip around the inner rim. The metal is powder-coated for durability; the acrylic diffuses the LED into a continuous glow around each ring.

How energy-efficient are the LED lights?

Each ring uses an integrated LED strip rated to 50,000 hours. LED technology uses a fraction of the energy of comparable incandescent sources — the Galena is designed for long-term, low-maintenance use.

Can the height be adjusted easily?

Yes — each wire adjusts between 1.5 m and 4 m. Set the drop at installation to suit your ceiling height. For fixed commercial installs, the wire can be cut and finished to exact length.

Are there different lighting modes available?

Three modes: warm white, cool white, and an adjustable tunable option. Specify your preferred mode when ordering — it is configured before dispatch.

How long is the lifespan of the LEDs?

50,000 hours — approximately 17 years at 8 hours daily. The LED strip is integrated into each ring and does not need to be replaced over the normal service life of the fixture.

Is it suitable for various room types?

Yes — compact configurations (1–6 heads) work in bedrooms and dining rooms. Larger ones (12–60 heads) are designed for lobbies, stairwells, and double-height commercial spaces.

Does it come with a warranty?

1-year warranty as standard, extendable to 2 or 3 years at purchase. Warranty covers manufacturing defects — contact us at your order email for any claim.

How do I operate the light settings?

The Galena is hardwired and controlled by your wall switch. Dimming and mode-switching are configured to order — let us know your preference and we'll set it up before dispatch.

Is professional installation recommended?

Yes — especially for larger configurations. All wires route to a single canopy point; aligning and weighting multiple rings during installation benefits from two people and a certified electrician for the final wiring.
