The Object

Focused downthe ceiling stays quiet

The Gadstrup Ceiling Light is a single aluminium cylinder, hardwired and pointed down. The integrated LED at 12W puts 1320 lm exactly where it needs to go — no spill, no scatter — while the matte housing keeps the ceiling above it uncluttered. Three finishes (black, white, gold), sloped-ceiling compatible, dimmable on request. Small enough for a low-clearance hallway, clean enough for an open-plan kitchen.
Why you'll love it
  • Focused downward beam — task or ambient light, no scatter
  • Integrated LED, 12W — bright without being harsh
  • Black, white, or gold finish — three clean options
  • Sloped-ceiling compatible — mounts on angled ceilings
  • Compact body — 7.5 cm diameter, suits low-clearance spaces
Details

A close-to-ceiling install for low-clearance rooms — power off, mount the bracket, match the wires, done.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — direct to a standard ceiling junction box; sits close against the ceiling
  • Dimming — most socketed models dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Ceilings — flat ceilings only; for vaulted or sloped ceilings, look at semi-flush or pendant options instead
  • Power — hardwired to your home's electrical system

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — shut it off at the breaker panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
  2. Remove the fixture cover — twist or unclip the outer shade or base cover to expose the mounting plate and wiring.
  3. Install the mounting bracket — attach it to the ceiling junction box with the supplied screws, secure and level.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the junction box.
  5. Attach the fixture base — lift into place, align with the bracket, and secure with the provided screws so it sits flush against the ceiling.
  6. Reattach the cover — twist, clip, or fasten the decorative cover or diffuser back on.
  7. Restore power and test.

Good to know

  • Great for standard or low ceilings — hallways, bedrooms, closets.
  • Confirm your junction box can support the fixture's weight.
  • Follow local electrical codes.
  • When in doubt, bring in a licensed electrician.

The shape

One cylindereverything below it, lit

The Gadstrup is 7.5 cm across and 17.3 cm tall — a proportion that reads architectural, not decorative. The aluminium body dissipates heat efficiently, which protects the integrated LED and extends its life. The canopy sits flush to the ceiling, leaving only the cylinder itself visible from below.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Three things the aluminium body does.
Clean form

Minimal cylinder profile — designed to disappear into the ceiling.

Heat-managed

Aluminium body dissipates heat to extend LED life and maintain output.

Sloped ceiling

Compatible with angled ceilings — no additional hardware needed.

Frequently asked

Dimming is available on request — specify at checkout and we configure the unit before dispatch. The standard version ships at full brightness without dimmer compatibility.

The Gadstrup has an integrated LED module — it's built into the fixture rather than a replaceable bulb. At 12W and 1320 lm, output is strong enough for task or ambient use.

Yes — the canopy and mounting hardware are compatible with sloped ceilings at standard angles. No adaptor is required for typical pitch ranges.

Black, white, and gold — three finishes that cover most interior palettes, from monochrome to warm natural tones. The finish is applied uniformly across the body and canopy.

1320 lm at 12W — comparable to a 75W incandescent. Bright enough for kitchens, dining rooms, and hallways, but focused downward rather than diffused across the ceiling.

Yes — aluminium conducts heat away from the LED efficiently, keeping the junction temperature low. This extends the LED's effective lifespan and maintains consistent lumen output over time.

Its 7.5 cm diameter suits low-clearance hallways and tight spaces well. In larger rooms, use multiple units to build even coverage — the cylindrical form clusters cleanly without looking crowded.

No — the integrated LED needs no replacement bulbs. The only maintenance is an occasional wipe with a dry cloth to keep the aluminium body clean. No parts to replace.

Integrated LEDs in this class are typically rated to 30,000–50,000 hours. At 8 hours a day, that's 10–17 years of continuous use before any noticeable drop in output.

The Gadstrup is not IP-rated for wet areas. It can be used in a dry bathroom zone (Zone 3, away from the shower) but should not be installed directly above a bath or shower enclosure.
