The Object

Cast both waysup the wall and down

The Ester Wall Lamp is a minimal aluminium wedge that splits its beam — sending light both up and down the wall simultaneously. Set against an exterior wall it washes the facade evenly; mounted in a hallway it gives a room depth without a single visible source. Powder-coated against rust and corrosion, two sizes, integrated LED with no bulbs to replace.
Why you'll love it
  • Dual up-and-down beam washes a wall evenly from one fixture
  • Powder-coated aluminium — rust and corrosion resistant
  • Integrated LED — no bulbs to replace, 90–260V range
  • Two compact sizes for different wall and output needs
  • Clean geometric wedge profile suits multiple architectural styles
Details

Most wall lamps are a simple bracket-and-wire job — but check your power type first, since hardwired, plug-in, and rechargeable models each install a little differently.

Before you begin

  • Dimming — most socketed lamps dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Power — hardwired, plug-in, or rechargeable depending on the model; check your product details
  • Mounting — wall-mount, hardware included
  • Indoor/outdoor — confirm your model is rated for outdoor use before installing outside

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver
  • Wire nuts (included for hardwired models)
  • Voltage tester
  • Power drill (for new mounting locations)

Step by step

  1. Identify your power type — hardwired, plug-in, or rechargeable. Follow the steps below for yours.
  2. If hardwired: turn off the power — switch off at your main electrical panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
  3. If hardwired: remove the old lamp — unscrew it and disconnect the wires by removing the wire nuts.
  4. If hardwired: attach the new mounting bracket — align it with your junction box or marked wall location and secure with the included screws.
  5. If hardwired: connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Twist and secure with wire nuts, then tuck neatly into the junction box.
  6. If hardwired: mount the fixture — align with the bracket and secure with the provided screws.
  7. If hardwired: install the bulb — correct type and wattage, if your model uses one.
  8. If hardwired: restore power and test.
  9. If plug-in: mount the bracket — with anchors or screws, then attach the fixture and plug it into a nearby outlet. Route the cord neatly.
  10. If rechargeable: mount the bracket — with screws and anchors, fully charge the lamp with the included cable, then install it onto the bracket and power on.

Good to know

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • Bring in a licensed electrician if you're unsure.
  • Dust and clean your fixture regularly to keep it looking its best.

How it works

One fixturelight in both directions

Two slots in the aluminium body direct the beam upward and downward simultaneously. The up-light washes the wall and ceiling above; the down-light marks the ground or surface beneath. Neither beam is harsh — both are contained within the geometry of the wedge.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Three things built into the Ester's compact form.
Up and down

Dual beams wash the wall above and below from a single compact fixture.

Weather-ready

Powder-coated aluminium resists rust, corrosion, and temperature variation outdoors.

Integrated LED

No bulbs to source or replace — long-life LED built into the aluminium body.

Frequently asked

Yes — the aluminium body is powder-coated and sealed against corrosion, making it appropriate for exposed exterior walls in most climates including rain, frost, and coastal humidity.

The sealed aluminium housing keeps moisture out; the powder-coat protects the finish against rain and freeze-thaw cycles. Avoid fully submerged or pooling-water environments.

None — the Ester uses an integrated LED built directly into the body. There's nothing to install; just wire it to the wall and it's ready.

At 3W or 6W, the Ester uses a fraction of the power of a comparable halogen wall light. The LED output (330–660 lm) delivers effective wall washing at very low running cost.

The fixture wall-mounts to a standard back box with the included hardware. It's hardwired, so the connection to the mains should be made by a qualified electrician — particularly for exterior applications.

The dual up-down beam is fixed by the housing geometry — both directions are always active. The intensity of each beam is determined by the LED output, not adjustable individually.

The wedge profile is spare and geometric — it reads cleanly against rendered, brick, timber, or stone exteriors. The matte black finish holds against pale and dark surfaces equally.

The housing is aluminium — inherently corrosion-resistant — finished with a powder-coat layer for additional protection against moisture, UV, and impact. The integrated LED has no glass bulb to break.

The dual beam creates a gentle rhythm along a facade or pathway — each fixture marks a point on the wall with light going both up and down, giving depth to the surface rather than just illuminating a path.

Yes — aluminium doesn't rust, and the powder-coat finish seals the surface against moisture-driven corrosion. It's suitable for coastal and high-humidity outdoor environments.
