The Object

Grainpressed flat into the wall

The Enspijk Wall Panel is solid wood, cut and finished to bring natural grain and warmth to a flat wall. Screw-fit installation makes it a genuine DIY project — no specialist tools, no adhesive residue. Each panel absorbs sound as well as transforms the surface, softening echo in hard-walled rooms. Available in multiple natural wood tones to match the existing materials in a space.
Why you'll love it
  • Solid wood — genuine grain, not printed veneer
  • Sound-absorbing — reduces echo in hard-walled rooms
  • DIY screw installation — no specialist tools
  • Multiple natural wood tones to match your space
  • Sustainable sourcing — eco-certified materials
Details

Three ways to install, depending on your panel — nail gun, peel-and-stick, or glue-on. Pick the one that matches what you ordered.

Before you begin

  • Prep — walls should be clean, dry, and smooth; remove dust, grease, nails, and flaky paint
  • Layout — measure and mark your starting line with a level and pencil, and lay out panels on the floor first to visualize placement

What you'll need

  • Tape measure, level, pencil or chalk line
  • Utility knife or fine-tooth saw, clean cloth
  • Caulk gun (if using adhesive), rubber roller (for peel-and-stick), brad nail gun (for nail gun install)

Step by step

  1. Nail gun — for thicker or heavier panels like wood/MDF. Locate wall studs with a stud finder and mark them.
  2. Nail gun — start at the bottom corner and align your first panel to your guidelines.
  3. Nail gun — fasten into studs — nails every 12–16".
  4. Nail gun — fit remaining panels tightly together and continue fastening. Fill nail holes with wood filler or color-matched putty. Optionally, add caulk between panels for seamless joints. Leave a 1/8" gap at edges for expansion.
  5. Peel-and-stick — for lightweight panels with pre-applied adhesive. Wipe the wall clean of dust and grease and let it dry fully. Measure and draw a level starting line.
  6. Peel-and-stick — peel and place — remove the adhesive backing from the first panel, align carefully, and press onto the wall starting at one edge.
  7. Peel-and-stick — roll it flat — use a rubber roller to apply even pressure, then continue placing panels tightly against each other. Avoid repositioning — the adhesive is strongest on first contact.
  8. Glue-on — for panels without adhesive, like solid PVC, composite, or acoustic. Clean the wall surface thoroughly.
  9. Glue-on — apply adhesive in an "S" or zig-zag pattern on the back of the panel.
  10. Glue-on — press into place — align to your guide marks and press firmly against the wall. Use painter's tape to hold it if needed.
  11. Glue-on — repeat and finish — continue with remaining panels, keeping spacing even and level. Wipe away any adhesive squeeze-out with a damp cloth. Let adhesive cure 24–48 hours before applying pressure or weight.

How it's made

Solid woodgrain expressed, not simulated

Each panel is cut from solid wood rather than MDF with a printed surface — the grain runs through the material, so the edge and face match. The finish is applied to protect without obscuring: the wood still looks and feels like wood. Tone variation between panels creates a natural randomness that printed alternatives can't replicate.

Real solid wood

Genuine wood grain, not veneer or print — each panel has its own natural character and variation.

Acoustic benefit

The wood surface absorbs sound and reduces echo — a practical benefit on top of the visual transformation.

Frequently asked

Solid wood — sourced from sustainably managed forests and certified to eco-friendly standards. The finish is applied to protect the surface without masking the natural grain and tone of the wood.

Dimensions vary by configuration — contact us with your wall area and we'll advise on the panel count and layout. Individual panel weights are manageable for a solo DIY install in most cases.

Yes — it's made from sustainably sourced solid wood and finished with materials that meet international environmental standards. Sustainable sourcing documentation is available on request.

Screw directly into the wall using the included hardware — mark positions, drill pilot holes, and fix each panel in sequence. A standard drill and screwdriver are all you need. Most wall types are suitable including plasterboard and timber stud.

Yes — it's built to withstand daily contact in high-traffic commercial environments as well as residential rooms. The screw-mount system also allows panels to be removed and reinstalled if you move or renovate.

Multiple natural wood tones are available — from light blonde through to rich dark brown, depending on the species and finish. Contact us for a current sample list or to request a specific tone.

Not typically — the screw-mount system is designed for DIY. For larger commercial installations or unusual wall materials (concrete, brick), professional installation may give better results.

Yes — solid wood is inherently resilient to daily contact and minor impact. The protective finish resists surface marking and can be refreshed with a light sand and re-coat if needed over many years.

Living rooms and dining rooms for warmth and texture; home offices for acoustic comfort; bedrooms behind the headboard; and commercial spaces like restaurant dining rooms and hotel rooms.

A drill, screwdriver, spirit level, and pencil for marking. Wall anchors are included. For a precise finish, a mitre saw or jigsaw helps at edges and corners — though many installations work with simple straight cuts.
