The Object

Formed in cementworn before it hangs

The Eib is cast from cement, and the surface doesn't hide it — raw grain, natural variation, a material that reads as honest rather than finished. The shade cups the bulb and directs a warm, focused wash downward. One E27 bulb, replaceable; adjustable cord to two metres; sloped-ceiling compatible.
Why you'll love it
  • Cast cement shade — each piece carries its own surface variation
  • Focused downward light with no visible glare
  • Adjustable cord to 2 m, sloped-ceiling compatible
  • Replaceable E27 LED bulb included
  • Dimmable on request — 90–260V universal voltage
Details

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

Good to know

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

On the form

Cast oncethe surface is the finish

Cement is poured and set; what emerges is the product — no coating, no veneer. The grain and tonal shifts across the shade are the material's own record of how it was made. Under the light, those textures come alive.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Raw finish

The cement surface is uncoated — every variation in grain and tone is the material itself.

Focused wash

The shade cups the bulb and directs a warm, even glow downward over a table or island.

Easy upkeep

Sealed cement resists wear and wipes clean with a dry cloth, no special care needed.

Frequently asked

The Eib is cast from real cement — a material that retains its natural grain and tonal variation rather than hiding behind a coating. The result is a shade that feels grounded and quietly distinctive, not uniform.

It works well over a dining table, kitchen island, or reading nook. The adjustable cord (up to 2 m) and sloped-ceiling compatibility mean it fits most ceiling configurations without modification.

An E27 LED bulb, 15W at 1500 lm. It's replaceable, so you're not locked into any proprietary source — standard E27 LEDs are widely available at any hardware store.

Yes — an E27 LED bulb is included in the box. You can hang and use it straight away, no separate bulb purchase needed.

It runs on 90–260V, so it's compatible with electrical systems across most countries without needing a transformer or voltage adapter.

At 15W and 1500 lm, it provides focused, comfortable task lighting over a table or island. The downward-directed shade concentrates the glow where you need it rather than scattering it around the room.

Just one — a single E27 bulb is all it takes. The shade is designed to direct that single source efficiently, giving you a clean, unfussy light output.

The shade is cast cement (listed as stone finish), with a wood canopy. The combination of raw cement and natural wood keeps the palette earthy and consistent.

It suits contemporary, industrial, and Wabi Sabi-influenced interiors particularly well. The raw cement surface and minimal silhouette complement both warm and neutral palettes without competing with other materials in the room.

Yes — sealed cement wipes clean with a dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners. The E27 bulb is straightforward to replace when needed, and no other maintenance is required.
