Product Specifications

Finish — Black / White

Installation — Standard wall outlet box (specify your region when ordering)

Note — Contact our team for specific electrical specifications and compatibility with your local standard

Installation Guide

A standard outlet swap — power off, match the wires, new brass outlet in. GFCI and USB-C models just have a couple of extra terminals to watch for.

What's included

Brass plate, your selected outlet type (Standard, USB-C, or GFCI), and mounting accessories.

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, wire stripper

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — at your circuit breaker or fuse box.
  2. Remove the old cover plate — unscrew it and set it aside.
  3. Take out the old outlet — unscrew it from the electrical box and gently pull it out.
  4. Disconnect the wires — loosen the screws, or if back-inserted, cut and strip the ends.
  5. Connect the wires to the new outlet — wrap around screws or insert into terminals, following the Line, Neutral, and Ground markings (especially for GFCI and USB-C outlets).
  6. Secure the new outlet — tuck the wires back into the electrical box and fasten with the provided screws.
  7. Attach the new cover plate — place the brass plate over the outlet and screw it in.
  8. Turn the power back on — at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
  9. Test it — plug in a device to confirm power. For USB-C, test with a compatible charger. For GFCI, press the Test and Reset buttons to confirm it's working.

Black or white — flush to the wall plate

The custom module face is the part of a wall outlet that gets touched, looked at, and judged every day. On the Curemonte, the finish is consistent and the tolerances are tight — so the gap between plate and module disappears, and the outlet reads as part of the wall rather than attached to it.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Finished look

The module face sits flush and clean — no exposed screws, no plastic seams at the edge of the plate.

Two colours

Black for dark-toned walls and joinery; white for plaster, stone, or painted walls.

Durable finish

Holds its colour and surface quality over years of daily use — where cheaper outlets yellow, scratch, or loosen.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the main job of the Curemonte Outlet?

To be an outlet that doesn't look out of place in a considered room. It powers devices the way any outlet does — but the custom module face means it belongs in rooms where the switches, fixtures, and finishes have all been chosen deliberately.

When is a standard outlet module the smarter choice than USB charging?

When the room is primarily for living rather than working — a dining room, a bedroom, a lounge. USB ports look purposeful and slightly commercial; a clean standard outlet disappears into the wall. You can always use a discrete USB adaptor when you need it.

Does this work best in kitchens, bedrooms, or living rooms?

All three — but it's particularly valuable in rooms where a lot of design attention has been paid. A kitchen with stone benches and considered joinery; a bedroom with plaster walls and linen; a living room with a well-chosen light fitting. The outlet shouldn't undercut any of that.

What does custom module mean for a standard outlet?

The module is the functional insert — the part with the socket face — as distinct from the wall plate. A custom module is made to tighter tolerances and in a controlled finish, rather than mass-produced in builder-grade plastic that yellows over time.

Is this a better fit for full renovations than quick swaps?

It works for both, but renovations are where it pays most. When walls, floors, and joinery are all being resolved together, specifying the outlet at the same time means you're not retrofitting a finish decision after everything else is done.

Will this make a visible difference once installed?

Not obviously — which is the point. The Curemonte makes a visible difference only when compared to a builder-grade outlet in the same room. The improvement is in resolution and consistency, not in the outlet drawing attention to itself.

Is this mostly about aesthetics, or is there a practical reason too?

Both. The finish holds better over time — no yellowing, no loosening module face, no scratching at the insert points. Practically and visually, it performs better over a decade than a standard fitting.

Do I need to think about color if this module comes in black or white?

Yes — it's worth deciding before installation. Black works with dark joinery, charcoal walls, and matte finishes. White works with plaster, stone, and painted walls. A mismatched colour is more visible than a matched one, so it's worth specifying at the point of order.

Is this the kind of product an electrician will understand easily?

Yes — the Curemonte fits a standard wall outlet box and installs the same way as any other outlet module. No special tools or knowledge required. The electrical connection is identical to any standard fitting your electrician works with.

Will a standard outlet module age better than a cheap builder-grade outlet in a finished room?

Yes — builder-grade outlets use lower-grade plastics that yellow and scratch with daily use. The Curemonte's custom module face is built to hold its finish and form through years of daily contact, which matters in rooms that are meant to last.
