The Object

Two loopsone continuous form

The Corduroy traces two connected loops in alabaster and metal, so the chandelier reads as a single sculptural gesture rather than a collection of parts. At 84 x 140 cm, it fills the ceiling with presence — viewed from any angle, the double loop reads differently, making the room feel considered from every seat. Integrated LED, adjustable drop to 2 m.
Why you'll love it
  • Double-loop alabaster form — symmetrical from every angle
  • Alabaster marble diffuses the integrated LED into soft, ambient light
  • Large-scale: 84 x 140 cm — a centrepiece for spacious rooms
  • Integrated LED — consistent, warm output, no bulb replacement
  • Adjustable drop to 2 m, suits high-ceiling dining rooms and foyers
Details

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

Good to know

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

On the detail

Two loopsconnected at the centre

The double-loop form creates a chandelier that changes as you move around the room — side-on it reads as a tall oval; head-on it reads as two overlapping circles. The alabaster softens any internal LED glow so there's no hard edge, just material and light.

What to know before you hang the Corduroy.
Sculptural loop

The double-loop composition reads differently from every seat in the room — always interesting, never static.

Alabaster glow

Natural alabaster diffuses the integrated LED into a warm, even ambient wash — no glare, no visible source.

Made for scale

At 140 cm tall, the Corduroy requires a room with ceiling clearance — and rewards it with genuine presence.

Frequently asked

Yes — the Corduroy's sculptural double-loop form works in both period and contemporary settings. The alabaster gives it a timeless material quality that sits comfortably alongside traditional architecture.

Alabaster marble throughout the looping form, with an internal metal frame for structural support. The alabaster diffuses the integrated LED; the frame is not visible in normal use.

At 14 kg, the Corduroy requires a solid ceiling junction box and two people for safe installation. We recommend a certified electrician. The adjustable drop makes height positioning straightforward once hung.

Yes — the alabaster diffuses the 130 W integrated LED into a warm, even wash. The light emerges through the stone rather than from a visible point, so it reads as ambient rather than directed.

The two connected loops read as one continuous sculptural form — symmetrical and stately viewed head-on, but dynamic when seen from the side or from a seat below. It gives the chandelier multiple readings without moving.

Most chandeliers radiate outward from a central point. The Corduroy is a closed loop — it doesn't radiate, it contains. The form is self-referential, which gives it a sculptural weight rare in lighting.

Viewed from directly below, the double loops overlap into a complex geometric form. From the side, the tall oval reads as a single graceful arch. Each angle offers a different reading.

Yes — alabaster reads as a heritage material, while the clean geometric loops are clearly contemporary. The combination works in both settings, which is why it suits formal dining rooms and modern open-plan spaces equally.

Yes — the internal metal frame is built to support the alabaster panels over the long term. The stone itself is durable in dry indoor conditions; no coating or sealing is required.

Minimal. Switch off and allow to cool, then wipe the alabaster with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water or chemical cleaners on the stone. The integrated LED requires no maintenance and no bulb replacement.
