Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

A stainless-steel frame finished in vintage brass, wrapped around a ribbed glass cylinder. The brass is left brushed rather than polished, so it develops a soft, natural patina as it ages.

What kind of glow does it give off?

A warm 2700K light at 720 lumens, softened by the ribbed glass into vertical striations rather than a single bright point. High 90 CRI keeps colours true underneath it.

Is the bulb included, and can it be replaced?

Yes — one E26 LED bulb ships with the fixture and can be swapped for a standard replacement whenever needed. No proprietary parts to source.

Is the Comares dimmable?

Not currently — this fixture ships at a fixed warm output. If dimming matters for your space, let us know before you order and we'll advise on alternatives.

Can the hanging height be adjusted?

Yes — the chain adjusts up to 80 cm, so you can set the drop to suit your ceiling height and where the piece sits in the room.

Is it suitable for a sloped ceiling?
