The Object

Arms orbitthe globes hold the glow

The Chios Chandelier builds its form from fluid iron arms that sweep outward in an orbit-like arc, each ending in a frosted glass globe. The globes are not shades in the traditional sense — they absorb the LED inside and diffuse it in every direction, so the whole sphere glows. Organic wood accents sit where the arms meet the central body. Four or six heads; gold finish; adjustable rod.
Why you'll love it
  • Fluid orbit-inspired arms — sculptural even when unlit
  • Frosted glass globes diffuse light in every direction
  • Organic wood accents at the central body joins
  • Adjustable rod — sized to your ceiling height
  • 4 or 6 heads · replaceable E26 LEDs · dimmable on request
Details

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

Good to know

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

On the build

Iron curves outwardglobes hold the glow softly

The Chios draws its form from orbital geometry: the iron arms arc outward and upward before holding the globe at their tip. In gold, the metal reads warm against most ceiling colours. The frosted glass absorbs and redistributes the LED — no visible filament, no bright spot — just an even, milky sphere of light at the end of each arm.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Three things the Chios does well overhead.
Orbital form

Curved iron arms sweep outward in a sculptural arc — distinctive both lit and unlit.

Globe diffusion

Frosted glass spheres absorb the LED and glow evenly — no harsh source visible.

Adjustable height

The rod adjusts to fit your ceiling — suitable for standard and higher ceiling heights.

Frequently asked

The form draws on orbital geometry — curved arms that arc outward like the paths of objects in motion, each holding a frosted globe at its tip. The result is a fixture that feels less like a chandelier and more like a captured moment of movement overhead.

Iron for the arms and central frame, glass for the frosted globes, and natural wood for the accent details at the joints. All three materials are chosen for durability and their complementary visual weight in a gold finish.

Frosted glass scatters the LED in every direction rather than projecting a beam downward. The whole sphere glows — a warmer, softer effect than clear glass shades, and without the visible filament that can create glare.

Dining rooms, living rooms, and upscale commercial spaces — anywhere that can accommodate a centrepiece fixture. At 55–60 cm wide, it suits mid-to-large rooms. Note that it is not compatible with sloped ceilings.

Ambient — the frosted globes spread a soft, omnidirectional glow rather than directing focused task light. At 48–72W total, it provides comfortable ambient illumination for a dining or living area.

The orbital iron arms and gold finish sit well alongside natural wood furniture, stone surfaces, and warm-toned textiles. The organic wood accents bridge the metallic and natural elements in the room.

The Chios uses a pipe-erected installation method — the central rod attaches to the ceiling canopy, and the arms hang from there. It is not compatible with sloped ceilings. Professional installation is recommended.

Yes. The fixture is certified to UL, CE, and a range of international standards, making it suitable for both home and commercial use. The scale and ambient output work well in restaurant dining rooms, hotel lobbies, and boutique retail.

Each material plays a distinct role: iron provides structural form and graphic line, glass diffuses the light source, and wood softens the joins with a natural warmth. Together they make the fixture feel considered rather than purely decorative.
