Yes — the cord adjusts to a maximum drop of 1.2 m from the ceiling. For dining tables, a drop of around 70–80 cm above the table surface works well; adjust to taste during installation.

No — the Chassagne is rated for indoor use only. Outdoor installation would expose the wood and iron components to moisture, shortening the fixture's life and voiding the warranty.

The cord and suspension are straightforward to set up, but hardwiring the fixture to mains supply should always be done by a certified electrician. We recommend professional installation to ensure safe operation.
Dimming is available on request — specify it when ordering and we'll configure the integrated LED accordingly. Without this option, the fixture runs at full output only.
The integrated LED is rated for 50,000 hours of operation — at four hours of use per day, that equates to over 34 years before any degradation becomes noticeable. The LED is not field-replaceable, but the lifespan makes this a very long-term investment.
Dust the wood frame periodically with a dry or lightly damp cloth; avoid harsh solvents that can damage the finish. The iron components can be wiped with a dry cloth. No maintenance is required on the integrated LED during its rated lifespan.
