The Object

Charged by sunlit by night

The Chart Wall Lamp needs no wiring — just a south-facing wall and a screw. The polysilicon solar panel charges an 800mAh battery through the day; the light sensor reads the drop in ambient light and switches the lamp on automatically at dusk. IP65-rated, so rain, humidity, and temperature swings don't interrupt the cycle. A compact, self-sufficient wall light for paths, gates, porches, and garden walls.
Why you'll love it
  • Solar-powered — no wiring, no running costs
  • Auto on at dusk, auto off at dawn — no timer needed
  • IP65-rated — handles rain, humidity, and temperature swings
  • 800mAh battery — 10–12 hours of light on a full charge
  • 50,000-hour LED — set it once, leave it for years
Details

Most wall lamps are a simple bracket-and-wire job — but check your power type first, since hardwired, plug-in, and rechargeable models each install a little differently.

Before you begin

  • Dimming — most socketed lamps dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Power — hardwired, plug-in, or rechargeable depending on the model; check your product details
  • Mounting — wall-mount, hardware included
  • Indoor/outdoor — confirm your model is rated for outdoor use before installing outside

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver
  • Wire nuts (included for hardwired models)
  • Voltage tester
  • Power drill (for new mounting locations)

Step by step

  1. Identify your power type — hardwired, plug-in, or rechargeable. Follow the steps below for yours.
  2. If hardwired: turn off the power — switch off at your main electrical panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
  3. If hardwired: remove the old lamp — unscrew it and disconnect the wires by removing the wire nuts.
  4. If hardwired: attach the new mounting bracket — align it with your junction box or marked wall location and secure with the included screws.
  5. If hardwired: connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Twist and secure with wire nuts, then tuck neatly into the junction box.
  6. If hardwired: mount the fixture — align with the bracket and secure with the provided screws.
  7. If hardwired: install the bulb — correct type and wattage, if your model uses one.
  8. If hardwired: restore power and test.
  9. If plug-in: mount the bracket — with anchors or screws, then attach the fixture and plug it into a nearby outlet. Route the cord neatly.
  10. If rechargeable: mount the bracket — with screws and anchors, fully charge the lamp with the included cable, then install it onto the bracket and power on.

Good to know

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • Bring in a licensed electrician if you're unsure.
  • Dust and clean your fixture regularly to keep it looking its best.

How it works

A light sensornot a switch

The built-in photocell reads ambient light continuously. When daylight drops below a set threshold — at dusk, or during heavy overcast — the circuit closes and the LED activates. No manual switching, no timer drift. The 800mAh battery holds charge through 10–12 hours of darkness before the cycle restarts.

Yes — rubber plugs and screws are included. Fit takes a few minutes: plug the wall, insert screws, and hang the fixture. No electrician needed.

On a full charge the 800mAh battery powers the lamp for 10–12 hours — enough to run from dusk to dawn in most seasons. A full day of direct sun provides a complete charge.

Yes — IP65-rated, which means fully sealed against dust and protected against water jets from any direction. Rain, morning dew, and garden irrigation won't affect it.

Yes — a built-in light sensor detects the drop in ambient light at dusk and switches the lamp on automatically. It turns off again at dawn. No manual switching required.

The integrated LED produces a soft, warm-white glow — approachable and calming for paths, gates, porches, and garden walls rather than a harsh security-light tone.

Yes — anywhere you can mount it on a wall with the included hardware. Paths, side gates, garden walls, porches, and patios all work well. Just ensure the solar panel gets direct sun during the day.

50,000 hours — roughly 17 years at eight hours per night. The LEDs are integrated and don't need replacing independently of the fixture.

Very — mark two fixing points, insert the rubber plugs, drive the screws, and hang the lamp. No wiring, no junction box, no electrician. Takes under ten minutes.

Toggle the switch on the unit to the ON position after installation. The light sensor takes over from there — turning on at dusk and off at dawn automatically each night.
