No — the pendant hangs from a standard ceiling canopy via an adjustable cord. The canopy mounts to a junction box; a certified electrician should handle the hardwired mains connection.

Yes — the included E27 LED at 15W produces 1500lm and is rated to 50,000 hours. Energy draw is low relative to the light output, and the bulb is replaceable when it eventually reaches end-of-life.
The shade is blown glass in one of five translucent finishes; the fitting, cord, and canopy are iron. The E27 LED bulb is included.
The translucent glass shade diffuses the bulb output in all directions while tinting the light with the shade's colour. There's no upward spill blocked — the globe is open-topped where the fitting attaches.

Wipe the glass shade with a slightly damp soft cloth when the light is off and the glass is cool. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Dust the iron fitting with a dry cloth. The E27 bulb is replaced from below the shade.
The included E27 LED is rated to 50,000 hours — around 17 years at 8 hours daily. When it eventually needs replacing, any compatible E27 LED works.
