The Object

Each shadecut once, never the same

The Canvas Pendant holds organic alabaster marble shades on a brass frame, so the light source is invisible — what you see is the stone itself, glowing. The marble is genuine, not cast resin: each piece carries its own pattern of veining, and the translucence varies just enough that no two shades glow identically. Four sizes from 15 to 30 cm, adjustable cord to 1.5 m, and sloped-ceiling compatible.
Why you'll love it
  • Genuine alabaster marble — each shade uniquely veined
  • Light glows through the stone — no visible bulb
  • Four sizes: 15, 20, 25, and 30 cm
  • Adjustable cord to 1.5 m — sloped-ceiling compatible
  • Brass finish — hardware included for straightforward setup
Details

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

Good to know

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

On the material

Translucent stonethe light comes from within the shade

Alabaster marble is chosen here for its natural translucence — dense enough to hide the LED, porous enough to let warmth pass through. The veining in each slab creates subtle variations in thickness that glow at different intensities, giving the shade depth and texture that glass or resin can't replicate.

Genuine stone

Real alabaster marble — each shade carries natural veining unique to that piece.

Glows within

The LED sits hidden inside the marble; warm light radiates through the stone itself.

Frequently asked

Yes — these are real alabaster marble shades, not cast resin or synthetic stone. Each piece is cut from natural material, which is why the veining and translucence vary between individual shades.

The stone absorbs and redistributes the LED's warmth, creating a soft, layered glow rather than a direct beam. The effect is closer to candlelight than conventional pendant lighting — calm and atmospheric.

Yes — each alabaster shade is individually cut and finished by hand. The forms are organic rather than machine-perfect, which contributes to the natural character of the piece.

All mounting hardware is included — canopy, cord grip, and ceiling fixings. The cord adjusts to 1.5 m, and the fixture is sloped-ceiling compatible.

The fixture is hardwired to a standard ceiling junction box. Mounting the canopy and adjusting the cord is straightforward, but the mains connection should be completed by a certified electrician.

Every shade comes from a different section of stone. No two carry the same veining pattern or the same translucence, so clustered pendants at varying heights create a composition that's genuinely one of a kind.

Yes — the warm, diffused glow works particularly well in dining rooms, living areas, bedrooms, and entryways. The organic form complements both modern minimalist and more traditional interior styles.

The marble shade handles both jobs: it diffuses the light source completely so there's no glare, and the stone's veining provides visual texture that looks considered whether the light is on or off.

Yes — a 1-year warranty is included as standard, extendable to 2, 3, or 5 years. Contact our team after purchase to arrange the extended coverage.

Absolutely — alabaster has been used in architecture and lighting for centuries. The natural stone and brass hardware sit comfortably in period interiors, and the organic form avoids the hard geometry that can clash with traditional spaces.
