Downward only — the rounded shell is closed at the top, so all light exits through the open base. This makes it well suited for task lighting over a table or island, with minimal ceiling reflection.
Dining rooms, kitchen islands, home offices, and reading nooks — any space where a focused, calm pool of downward light is useful. It also works in clusters of two or three over a longer table.
Scandinavian, minimalist, and modern interiors most naturally — the clean curves and matte finishes sit well against light wood, concrete, and white or warm-toned walls.

The Brande uses an integrated LED — there's no separate bulb. At 8W (880 lm) it draws little power and won't need replacing under normal residential use.
Wipe the aluminium shell with a dry or lightly damp microfibre cloth. The matte finish doesn't attract fingerprints heavily, but a quick wipe every few weeks keeps it looking clean.
Standard residential ceilings (2.4–3 m) work well — the cord adjusts to 1.2 m, so you can position the dome at the right level above a surface. For dining tables, 70–80 cm above the table is a good starting point.
The Brande hardwires to a standard junction box, so installation by a certified electrician is recommended — particularly if you're running a new circuit or adding multiple pendants to a single circuit.
