The Object

Clean brassin one long pull

The Bomlo is an electroplated brass pull bar with a smooth, flat face and a minimal profile — no decoration, no texture, just a clean horizontal line across the cabinet front. Match as knob or bar; mix lengths across different drawer sizes. Brass or black, seven bar lengths from 10 cm to 38 cm.
Why you'll love it
  • Electroplated brass finish — durable surface that holds its tone
  • Seven pull-bar lengths from 10 cm to 38 cm
  • Matching knob available — same finish, same visual line
  • Bold contrast in black, warm presence in brass
  • For cupboards, cabinets, drawers, and wardrobes
Details

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

The finish

Electroplatedcolour applied at depth

Electroplating deposits the brass or black finish directly onto the metal substrate at a molecular level — a process that produces a more uniform, more adhesive coat than spray finishing. The Bomlo's surface holds its colour through the contact and moisture of daily kitchen or furniture use without flaking or lifting.

Frequently asked

Solid brass substrate with an electroplated surface in either brass or black. The electroplating process deposits the finish at a molecular level — producing a more durable and uniform coat than standard spray or powder-coat alternatives.

Very — electroplating bonds the finish directly to the brass substrate rather than sitting on top of it as a coating. The Bomlo's surface resists chipping and lifting through the repeated contact, moisture, and cleaning of daily kitchen use.

Yes — the clean, flat profile suits kitchen cabinetry, wardrobes, drawers, and any furniture door where a simple horizontal line is the right design choice. The seven bar lengths mean a correct fit for most standard drawer widths.

Yes — the knob and pull bar share the same finish and the same visual profile, so you can use the knob on smaller doors and the bar on wider drawers without creating a clash. Keep the same finish (both brass or both black) for cohesion.

Standard two-screw installation for the pull bars; single-screw for the knob. Hole spacings match standard cabinet hardware at 6.4, 9.6, 12.8, 22, 22.4, and 32 cm — likely matching your existing drill holes.

Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth to remove grease and fingerprints. Avoid abrasive cleaners — they can mark the electroplated surface over time. The brass finish will develop a natural patina with age; the black finish holds its colour with minimal care.

Yes — particularly in black against light cabinetry, or brass against dark-stained or painted cabinet fronts. The flat, minimal face of the Bomlo means the contrast comes from the finish rather than the form.

The Bomlo's flat profile and two-finish range work across contemporary, Scandinavian, transitional, and even more traditional kitchens. It's deliberately neutral in form — the finish does the styling.
