The Object

Angularevery edge considered

The Bjerring Knob is cut from zinc alloy with sharp, deliberate edges — five geometric profiles, all in gold. Nothing rounded, nothing soft: a tactile, architectural knob that reads as a furniture detail rather than a hardware component. Smooth grip, minimal profile, for cabinets and drawers in contemporary and minimalist schemes.
Why you'll love it
  • Five geometric profiles — from T-bar to dome, all in gold
  • Zinc alloy construction — durable, precisely cast
  • Sharp angular edges for a modern architectural character
  • Smooth grip — comfortable to pull without grip ridges
  • Works on cabinets, drawers, and wardrobe doors
Details

Includes the solid-brass plate, toggle mechanism, and mounting hardware. A straightforward swap for an existing switch — power off, match the wires, screw the plate back on.

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power at your breaker or fuse box.
  2. Remove the old cover plate — unscrew it and set it aside.
  3. Take out the old switch — unscrew it from the box and ease it out to reach the wiring.
  4. Disconnect the wires — loosen the screws, or if back-inserted, cut and strip the ends.
  5. Wire the new toggle — live to the brass/black screw, neutral to silver (if your switch uses one), ground to the green screw. Tighten each.
  6. Secure the switch — tuck the wires back, align the toggle, fasten with the included screws.
  7. Fit the brass plate over the switch and screw it in.
  8. Power back on at the panel.
  9. Test — toggle up and down; the light or device should switch cleanly.

The structure

Cast onceno soft edges

Each Bjerring profile is precision-cast in zinc alloy and finished in gold — a process that holds the sharp edge geometry without the softening that comes from machining. Five profiles offer range: from the wider T-bar format to a compact dome. Same finish, same character, different scale for different drawer sizes.

Precision cast

Frequently asked

Zinc alloy — a dense, precision-castable metal that holds sharp edge geometry and takes a clean gold finish. It's heavier and more rigid than plastic hardware, and more precisely formed than typical die-cast zinc alternatives.

Cabinets, drawers, and wardrobe doors — any furniture with a standard mounting hole. The Bjerring suits contemporary, minimalist, and industrial interiors particularly well, where the angular geometry reads as a deliberate design choice.

Standard single-screw installation through the existing hole in your cabinet or drawer front. The fixing screw is included. For furniture without a pre-drilled hole, a standard drill and the correct bit size for your chosen profile is all that's needed.

The Bjerring is offered in gold across all five profiles — a deliberate single-finish approach that ensures a cohesive look across a kitchen or furniture suite without needing to match between finish variants.

Yes — despite the angular form, the profiles are sized to fit the hand without the edges creating discomfort on the pull. The smooth surface means no friction against skin during everyday use.

Yes — the zinc alloy and gold finish hold up well in the moisture and temperature variation of kitchens and bathrooms. Wipe dry after wet contact for best long-term finish preservation.

Five profiles: T Knob at 6 cm x 2.7 cm, through to the widest at 6.9 cm x 2.1 cm. The different profiles suit different drawer sizes — larger drawers read better with the longer T-bar format; smaller cabinet doors suit the compact dome profiles.

Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive pads or acidic cleaners — the gold finish on zinc alloy can be stripped by harsh products. Periodic dry wiping is all that's needed for long-term maintenance.

Please contact us to discuss quantities for a full kitchen or furniture suite — we can advise on pack sizes and shipping for larger orders. Individual pieces are available via standard checkout.

The five geometric profiles and sharp edge geometry distinguish it from the rounded, generic hardware found in most kitchen ranges. At this scale, a knob is a detail you'll interact with dozens of times a day — the Bjerring makes that detail feel intentional.
