The Object

Lit from withinnot from a bulb

The Batiste holds slabs of hand-selected Spanish alabaster in an asymmetrical frame — each slab chosen for its own veining and translucence. Switch it on and the stone doesn't reflect the light; it holds it, diffusing the source into a soft, dimensional warmth. No two arrangements of stone are ever alike.
Why you'll love it
  • Hand-selected Spanish alabaster — each slab uniquely veined
  • Light glows through the stone, never off it
  • Asymmetrical composition — no two alike
  • Integrated LED — warm, even, nothing to replace
  • Sloped-ceiling compatible — dimmable on request
Details

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

Good to know

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

The making

Controlled chaosyears to perfect

Every slab of alabaster is hand-inspected for translucence, then positioned in an intentionally asymmetrical arrangement. The cables and hardware that support the stone are hidden so the material can lead. Ancient technique, held inside a modern frame.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Glows within

Alabaster diffuses the source into a soft, warm wash — depth without glare.

One of one

Every slab's veining is unique — no two Batiste chandeliers will ever be the same.

Stone held up

Internal structure and cables recede so only the alabaster reads overhead.

Material & craft

Every slabchosen by hand

Each piece of Spanish alabaster is inspected individually for its translucence and the character of its veining before it's positioned. The asymmetrical arrangement was developed over years of refinement — balanced by weight and light, not by symmetry.

Design statement

Ancient materialheld overhead

Alabaster has lit sacred spaces for centuries because it glows rather than shines. The Batiste translates that quality into a contemporary asymmetrical form — stone panels suspended in a metal frame, light travelling through them the same way it has for thousands of years.

Frequently asked

Nava ships worldwide, free of charge. Delivery typically takes 15–21 business days from dispatch. We'll send a tracking link once your order leaves our warehouse.

Yes — because the Batiste is a hardwired fixture supporting substantial stone, we strongly recommend a certified electrician. Mounting hardware and instructions are included.

The shades are hand-selected Spanish alabaster marble, each piece chosen individually for its translucence and natural veining. The frame is metal, finished in white.

The Batiste uses an integrated LED rated at 20W (2200 lm) — efficient for a fixture of this scale. LEDs have a long operational life and no replacement is needed.

Dimming is available on request — let us know when you order and we'll configure the fixture accordingly. A compatible dimmer switch is required on your circuit.

Yes — every Batiste Chandelier comes with a 1-year warranty as standard. Extended coverage for 2, 3, or 5 years is available — ask us at checkout.

Dust the alabaster gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water or chemical cleaners directly on the stone — moisture can alter the surface over time. The metal frame wipes clean with a lightly damp cloth.

Not natively, but if you order the dimmable configuration, many smart dimmers (e.g. Lutron, Leviton) are compatible. Check with your electrician for the best pairing for your system.

Absolutely — the Batiste is sized and scaled for large rooms. It works well centred over a dining table or as a statement piece in a double-height living space or entryway.

Light passes through each alabaster slab rather than reflecting off it — the result is a warm, diffused ambient glow with no harsh hotspots. The whole stone surface becomes the light source.
