The Object

Soft formsolid in the hand

The Barrit draws a gentle floral outline in solid brass — contoured edges that feel smooth under the fingers and look considered up close. The brushed finish mutes the sheen just enough to read as vintage without being decorative for its own sake. At 3 x 3 cm it fits standard cabinet holes and works on drawers, wardrobes, and cupboard fronts in black, brass, or bronze.
Why you'll love it
  • Floral-inspired form — soft contours, distinctive up close
  • Solid brass — weighty, durable, built for daily use
  • Brushed vintage finish in black, brass, or bronze
  • Smooth, comfortable grip — ergonomic by design
  • Fits standard cabinet holes · suits multiple furniture types
Details

Includes the solid-brass plate, toggle mechanism, and mounting hardware. A straightforward swap for an existing switch — power off, match the wires, screw the plate back on.

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power at your breaker or fuse box.
  2. Remove the old cover plate — unscrew it and set it aside.
  3. Take out the old switch — unscrew it from the box and ease it out to reach the wiring.
  4. Disconnect the wires — loosen the screws, or if back-inserted, cut and strip the ends.
  5. Wire the new toggle — live to the brass/black screw, neutral to silver (if your switch uses one), ground to the green screw. Tighten each.
  6. Secure the switch — tuck the wires back, align the toggle, fasten with the included screws.
  7. Fit the brass plate over the switch and screw it in.
  8. Power back on at the panel.
  9. Test — toggle up and down; the light or device should switch cleanly.

On the form

Floral outlinedetail that rewards a look

The Barrit's floral geometry is subtle — you read it as a soft, contoured knob before you notice the petal structure. The brushed finish sits between polished and matte, catching just enough light to give the form depth without competing with the cabinet behind it.

Brushed vintage finish

The brushed surface sits between polished and matte — it reads refined without demanding attention.

Frequently asked

Solid brass throughout — no hollow sections or composite fills. Brass is dense and durable, which gives the knob its characteristic weight and keeps it looking consistent through years of daily use.

Modern, transitional, and classic interiors all work well. The floral form is subtle enough not to read as purely traditional — it bridges contemporary and period styles depending on the finish chosen.

Yes — the contoured edges are smooth and rounded, so the knob sits naturally in the fingers without digging in. It's designed for the kind of repeated daily use that cabinet hardware actually gets.

Cabinets, drawers, wardrobes, and cupboard fronts — any furniture with a standard knob hole. At D3 x H3 cm it's a compact knob suited to smaller drawer fronts as well as full cabinet doors.

Three options: black, brass, and bronze. All three are brushed rather than polished — a slightly matte surface that holds its tone without showing fingerprints as readily as a high-gloss finish.

No — a standard screwdriver is all you need. The knob mounts through a single hole with the included screw. Most installations take a couple of minutes per knob.

With a brushed finish, the Barrit ages gracefully — the surface texture means small marks blend in rather than standing out. Over years, the brass may warm slightly in tone, adding character rather than looking worn.

Solid brass is naturally resistant to corrosion, so bathroom vanities and kitchen cabinets are fine. Avoid sustained submersion or direct contact with harsh cleaning chemicals, which can strip the finish.

Yes — black, brass, and bronze. Each finish changes the character of the knob: black is graphic and modern; brass is warm and classic; bronze sits between the two with an antique-inspired depth.

75 g per knob — substantial enough to feel solid in use, light enough that it won't stress standard cabinet hardware or door hinges over time.
