The Object

Four panelseach one a different shadow

The Banville Ceiling Light hangs four textured glass panels from a square copper mount, each pane bubbled so the light scatters rather than beams. It throws shifting patterns onto surrounding walls and ceiling as the day changes — a quiet effect that makes the room feel alive without doing anything dramatic. Copper and iron construction, matte black finish, compact enough for hallways and bedrooms.
Why you'll love it
  • Bubbled glass panels scatter light into shifting wall patterns
  • Copper and iron frame — solid, built for years of daily use
  • Compact square mount fits low-clearance ceilings
  • Replaceable E14 LED included — dimmable on request
  • Works in bedrooms, hallways, living rooms, and entryways
Details

A close-to-ceiling install for low-clearance rooms — power off, mount the bracket, match the wires, done.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — direct to a standard ceiling junction box; sits close against the ceiling
  • Dimming — most socketed models dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Ceilings — flat ceilings only; for vaulted or sloped ceilings, look at semi-flush or pendant options instead
  • Power — hardwired to your home's electrical system

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — shut it off at the breaker panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
  2. Remove the fixture cover — twist or unclip the outer shade or base cover to expose the mounting plate and wiring.
  3. Install the mounting bracket — attach it to the ceiling junction box with the supplied screws, secure and level.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the junction box.
  5. Attach the fixture base — lift into place, align with the bracket, and secure with the provided screws so it sits flush against the ceiling.
  6. Reattach the cover — twist, clip, or fasten the decorative cover or diffuser back on.
  7. Restore power and test.

Good to know

  • Great for standard or low ceilings — hallways, bedrooms, closets.
  • Confirm your junction box can support the fixture's weight.
  • Follow local electrical codes.
  • When in doubt, bring in a licensed electrician.

On the light

Texturedoing what glass alone cannot

Flat glass transmits light. Bubbled glass bends it. The Banville's four textured panes refract the source in every direction, creating a play of soft highlights and low shadow on surrounding walls. The effect shifts subtly through the day as natural light changes around it — a fixture that reads differently at noon than at midnight.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Three things that make the Banville work harder than it looks.
Shifting shadows

The textured glass panels create a moving interplay of light and pattern on surrounding surfaces.

Solid construction

Copper and iron frame holds its finish and form through years of consistent use.

Compact fit

A 20 cm square canopy sits close to the ceiling — ideal for lower rooms and tighter spaces.

Frequently asked

Geometric and sculptural — four textured glass panels suspended from a square copper canopy. It sits comfortably in contemporary and transitional interiors, adding visual depth without demanding attention.

The frame is copper and iron with a matte black finish. The shades are textured bubbled glass — chosen specifically for how they scatter and diffuse the light rather than simply containing it.

Yes — one E14 LED bulb is included. It's replaceable, so when it eventually needs changing you can fit a standard E14 from any hardware store.

E14 base — a common candelabra-style bulb widely available in warm and cool colour temperatures. The fixture is rated at 10W; stay at or below that for safe, consistent performance.

90–260V, making it compatible with standard household wiring in most countries. No converter or adapter needed for typical residential and commercial installations.

Living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and entryways all suit it well. The compact 20 cm footprint works in rooms where larger fixtures would feel overwhelming or crowd the ceiling.

Yes — that's the point. The bubbled texture of each glass panel bends and scatters light onto surrounding walls and the ceiling, creating a shifting pattern that changes with the time of day and light level.

It mounts to a standard ceiling junction box — straightforward hardwired installation. We recommend a certified electrician, particularly for connecting to existing wiring. All hardware is included.

Dimming is available on request — let us know when ordering and we'll configure it accordingly. Standard E14 dimmable LEDs work with most wall-mounted dimmers once the fixture is set up for it.

Wipe the metal frame with a dry or lightly damp cloth. For the glass panels, a soft lint-free cloth removes dust without scratching the texture. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could dull the glass surface.
