The Object

Water falls flatbrass frames it cleanly

The Axel drops a wide, flat brass spout over the basin and controls the whole thing with a single lever — flow and temperature in one movement. The waterfall spreads across the full width of the spout rather than jetting from a narrow tip, which means less splash and a quieter, smoother draw. Solid brass throughout, in your choice of finish, with a 2.2 GPM output and a pressure range that covers most residential systems.
Why you'll love it
  • Solid brass construction — no corrosion, built for daily use
  • Single-lever control — temperature and flow in one movement
  • Wide flat spout creates a smooth, low-splash waterfall
  • 2.2 GPM flow rate suits standard residential water pressure
  • Multiple finishes to complement minimalist and industrial bathrooms
Details

Water off first, then it's supply lines and sealant — wall-mounted and counter-mounted faucets install a little differently, so follow the steps for your type.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — wall-mounted or counter-mounted; check your product's description first
  • Thread compatibility — G1/2 BSP is standard outside North America; NPT-compatible options are available for U.S. and Canadian plumbing (an adapter may be required)

What you'll need

  • Adjustable wrench, pipe tape (Teflon), basin wrench
  • Plumber's putty or silicone sealant, bucket or towel
  • Drill and anchors (for wall-mounted units)

Step by step

  1. Wall-mounted — turn off the water supply — shut off hot and cold valves and open nearby faucets to release pressure.
  2. Wall-mounted — prepare the water lines — confirm wall outlets for hot and cold water align with your faucet's inlets, and make any plumbing adjustments before mounting.
  3. Wall-mounted — install mounting hardware — mark and drill holes, then mount the support plate with the provided anchors or screws.
  4. Wall-mounted — connect supply lines — wrap threaded connections with plumber's tape and attach hot and cold lines securely to the valve inlets.
  5. Wall-mounted — mount the faucet body — secure the spout and handles onto the mounted base, tightening with a wrench without overtightening.
  6. Wall-mounted — seal and finish — apply silicone sealant around the base fittings and let it cure as recommended.
  7. Wall-mounted — turn on the water and test — check for leaks and test the temperature control.
  8. Counter-mounted — turn off the water supply — shut off both valves under the sink and drain any remaining water from the faucet.
  9. Counter-mounted — position the faucet and handles — insert through the pre-drilled holes on the countertop or sink deck.
  10. Counter-mounted — secure from beneath — use mounting nuts and washers from below the sink.
  11. Counter-mounted — connect the water supply lines — use plumber's tape on all threaded joints and attach hot and cold lines with flexible connectors.
  12. Counter-mounted — seal the base — apply plumber's putty or silicone around the faucet base if required.
  13. Counter-mounted — turn on the water and inspect — check for steady flow, correct temperature, and tight seals.

Good to know

  • Always verify thread compatibility (BSP vs. NPT) and use an adapter where needed.
  • If you're unsure about your plumbing system, consult a licensed plumber.
  • Clean aerators periodically for the best water flow.
  • For outdoor wall applications, make sure you have frost protection in colder climates.

A flat spoutwater spreads wide and calm

The spout geometry is the Axel's defining feature — wide and flat, it delivers a sheet of water rather than a concentrated jet, which is both quieter and far less prone to splashing. The brass body carries certifications including CE, NSF/ANSI 61 & 372, and WaterSense — all relevant for residential installation. Suitable for BSP plumbing standard; NPT adapter available for North American systems.

Frequently asked

Solid brass throughout — body, spout, and lever arm. Brass is the standard material for quality faucets because it resists corrosion, holds tight tolerances, and takes a durable finish.

The spout is wide and flat rather than tubular — it delivers a sheet of water across its full width, which creates a smooth waterfall effect, reduces splash, and makes hand-washing quieter and more comfortable.

2.2 gallons per minute — a standard residential flow rate that balances usable pressure with reasonable water consumption. WaterSense certified for efficiency.

One lever controls both flow volume and temperature — push forward to open, left for hot, right for cold. Faster and more intuitive than separate hot and cold taps, particularly useful in bathrooms.

Minimum 29 PSI, typical operating pressure 50 PSI, maximum 72 PSI. Most residential systems fall comfortably within this range, but check your home's pressure before purchasing if you're unsure.

The flat spout and lever are architectural rather than decorative — clean lines, no ornamental detail. It reads well alongside concrete, stone, and dark tile, and in minimalist or industrial-style bathrooms.

Yes — the wide sheet of water is less likely to jet or splash than a narrow-tip spout. The low profile means water lands closer to the drain, reducing mess on the basin surround.

Wipe regularly with a damp cloth and dry off water spots to prevent mineral build-up. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads — they can scratch the finish. A mild soap solution handles most marks.

Yes — solid brass with no plastic structural parts means the body won't crack under pressure or temperature cycling. Cartridge and seals are standard, serviceable components if maintenance is ever needed.

It fits a standard single-hole basin tap (4 cm tap hole, G1/2 BSP thread). For North American plumbing (NPT thread), a compatible adapter may be required. Professional plumber installation is recommended.
