The base is solid wood — stable and warm-toned. The shade is high-quality fabric stretched over a shaped internal frame. The combination gives the lamp its characteristic calm, soft quality in any room.
The fabric shade absorbs and diffuses the light before it reaches the room, removing harsh edges and hotspots. The result is a warm, settled glow — closer to candlelight than overhead lighting — that reads as ambient rather than functional.
Yes. The Japanese-influenced form is clean and quiet enough to sit in contemporary, Japandi, Scandinavian, and transitional interiors. The natural wood and neutral fabric mean it doesn't pull focus.
At 15W (1500 lm) with the right bulb, it provides comfortable reading light when positioned beside a chair. For detailed task work, a dedicated task light is better suited — the Asperen is ambient-first.
An E27 base bulb — standard sizing available everywhere. A warm-white LED (2700–3000K) at 10–15W gives the best result with the fabric shade. Note: the bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.
Very straightforward — the base, stem, and shade assemble without tools, typically in a few minutes. The cord plugs into any standard wall socket; no installation or hardwiring required.

Yes. The solid wood base provides stable footing on hardwood, tile, and carpet. The base footprint of 45 cm sits comfortably beside standard armchairs and sofas without tipping risk.
The influence is in the proportion and restraint — a tall, slender stem, a shade that sits just so above standing height, natural materials, and nothing extraneous. It reads as considered rather than decorative.
The wood base can be wiped with a slightly damp cloth. The fabric shade is best cleaned with a soft brush or low-suction vacuum attachment to remove dust without distorting the shape. Replace the E27 bulb when needed.
