The Object

Taperedwhere geometry meets the hand

The Ansager narrows from a thicker back face to a thinner front edge — a profile that looks sculptural and grips naturally in use. Zinc alloy throughout: dense enough to feel solid in the hand, light enough not to stress a cabinet door over time. Four lengths from 86 mm to 282 mm cover the range from a small jewellery drawer to a wide wardrobe panel.
Why you'll love it
  • Tapered geometric profile — sculptural form with a natural grip point
  • Four lengths: 86mm, 149mm, 178mm, 282mm with matched hole spacings
  • Zinc alloy — dense, corrosion-resistant, built for daily use
  • Available in Gold and Grey finish
  • Smooth grip — no raised texture to accumulate grime
Details

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

A taperwith a reason behind it

The Ansager's taper is not decorative — it is the grip. The thicker back gives the pull visual presence against the cabinet face; the thinner front edge is where fingers naturally land when pulling a drawer or door. Every dimension has a functional reason behind it.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Three decisions that make the Ansager function as well as it looks.
Tapered form

Geometric taper provides a comfortable natural grip without a recessed or sculpted channel.

Four lengths

86 mm to 282 mm covers small drawers through full wardrobe doors, with matched hole spacings per size.

Zinc alloy

Dense alloy gives the Ansager a weighty, quality feel without adding stress to the cabinet door.

Frequently asked

Zinc alloy — a dense, corrosion-resistant material that gives the Ansager a substantial feel without being excessively heavy. It holds finish well and resists surface degradation under regular daily use.

Yes. The Ansager is appropriate for kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, bedroom furniture, and wardrobes. Zinc alloy is resistant to the minor humidity variations typical of kitchen and bathroom environments.

It works on any cabinet or drawer with a standard front panel — wood, MDF, melamine, or metal-faced. The four lengths cover hole spacings from 32 mm to 192 mm, which encompasses most standard furniture configurations.

Two options: Gold (a warm, slightly matte metallic tone) and Grey (a cool, understated finish that reads more industrial). Both are applied over the zinc alloy base and resist scratching in normal use.

Yes. The Ansager fixes with two screws through pre-drilled holes in the cabinet face — standard pull bar installation. Hole spacings are specified per size so you can confirm they match your existing drilling before ordering. Free worldwide shipping, 15–21 business days.

Yes. The taper places the grippable edge naturally at the front of the hand. The smooth surface means no raised texture to accumulate grime in kitchen or bathroom environments.

Yes. The Ansager is symmetrical on the horizontal axis, so it can be mounted horizontally on drawers or vertically on cabinet doors without any visual difference.

Yes. Zinc alloy is inherently corrosion-resistant, and the applied finish adds further surface protection. Rated for normal indoor use including kitchens and bathrooms.

The geometric taper works in contemporary, minimalist, and transitional interiors. In Gold it suits warmer or more traditional kitchens; in Grey it reads as cooler and more industrial. A 1-year warranty is included.
