The Object

Rounded, solidright every time you touch it

The Ammitsbol Knob is a dome of solid brass with a flared base. The curvature sits naturally in the hand — smooth, weighted, and immediate. Three finishes cover the main interior registers: warm brass, deep bronze, and flat black. At 75 g it has enough presence to feel considered without being heavy on the door.
Why you'll love it
  • Solid brass — weighty, durable, and built for daily contact
  • Dome shape sits ergonomically in the palm every time
  • Three finishes: brass, bronze, and black
  • Fits cabinets, wardrobes, and drawers across any room
  • Compact at D1.1" x H1.1" — unobtrusive on any door face
Details

Includes the solid-brass plate, toggle mechanism, and mounting hardware. A straightforward swap for an existing switch — power off, match the wires, screw the plate back on.

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power at your breaker or fuse box.
  2. Remove the old cover plate — unscrew it and set it aside.
  3. Take out the old switch — unscrew it from the box and ease it out to reach the wiring.
  4. Disconnect the wires — loosen the screws, or if back-inserted, cut and strip the ends.
  5. Wire the new toggle — live to the brass/black screw, neutral to silver (if your switch uses one), ground to the green screw. Tighten each.
  6. Secure the switch — tuck the wires back, align the toggle, fasten with the included screws.
  7. Fit the brass plate over the switch and screw it in.
  8. Power back on at the panel.
  9. Test — toggle up and down; the light or device should switch cleanly.

On the material

Solid brassthrough the form, not just the surface

Solid brass holds its weight and finish longer than plated alternatives. The dome is turned to a smooth surface — no seams or moulded texture. The flared base creates a stable mounting footprint against the cabinet face, so the knob sits flush and level without rocking.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Three reasons the material and form work together for daily use.
Solid Brass

Not plated — solid through the form, so the finish holds over years of daily contact.

Three Finishes

Brass, bronze, or black — each shifts the knob's character from warm to earthy to graphic.

Classic Dome

The timeless dome form works in modern, transitional, and vintage interiors without requiring a specific style context.

Frequently asked

Solid brass — cast through the form, not plated over a cheaper base. Solid brass maintains its finish and weight over years of daily use without the chipping associated with plated hardware.

The dome profile is a classic form — but the flared base and smooth turned surface give it a precision that distinguishes it from generic hardware. It reads as a considered detail, not a functional afterthought.

Three: warm brass, deep bronze, and flat black. Each shifts the tone of the hardware — brass reads warm and traditional, bronze earthy and aged, black graphic and modern.

On cabinet doors, drawers, wardrobes, and cupboards. The 1.1" dome sits proportionally on both small drawer fronts and larger cabinet doors.

Yes — the black finish works directly in modern and minimal interiors; brass and bronze suit warmer, more layered rooms. The clean dome form avoids any period-specific styling.

75 g — solid enough to feel well-made in the hand, light enough not to stress standard cabinet door hinges over time.

Yes — the smooth dome curvature fits naturally into the palm. You can grip it with fingertips or the full hand depending on the cabinet position. No sharp edges.

Yes — the knob attaches via a standard machine screw through the cabinet door face. A screwdriver and the included fixing hardware are all that's needed.

Solid brass develops a natural patina with age — slightly darker and warmer. If you prefer to maintain the original finish, wipe occasionally with a dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaning products.

Yes — solid brass handles the higher frequency of daily use in commercial environments — retail cabinetry, hotel furniture, or office credenzas — without accelerated wear.
