Cast brass throughout — body, louvred face, and mounting flange. Brass is a natural choice for outdoor step lights: it resists corrosion, weathers slowly, and the patina that develops over time reads as quality rather than neglect.
The horizontal louvred face is the defining feature — it controls exactly where the light goes. The louvres angle the beam downward onto the step surface and prevent it from projecting upward into the eye. The housing is cast as a unified form, not assembled from parts.
Yes — solid cast brass is inherently corrosion-resistant and performs well in outdoor conditions including rain, frost, and UV exposure. The integrated LED is sealed within the housing.
Glare control and beam precision. The louvres limit the light spread to a tight downward angle — improving stair visibility without creating a blinding spot at shin or eye level. They also make the face easy to wipe clean.
