Three bladesquiet overhead

The Chert keeps a ceiling fan to its essentials: three slim blades on a clean iron body, turning quietly overhead. It moves air through a room without the hum, and the remote sets the speed from across the space. In five finishes, it reads as a considered overhead piece rather than a utility.
Why you'll love it
  • Three blades — quiet airflow through the room
  • Remote control sets the speed from anywhere
  • Iron body — sturdy and built to last
  • Five finishes to match the room
  • Low-draw 30W motor · indoor
Details

A close-to-ceiling install for low-clearance rooms — power off, mount the bracket, match the wires, done.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — direct to a standard ceiling junction box; sits close against the ceiling
  • Dimming — most socketed models dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Ceilings — flat ceilings only; for vaulted or sloped ceilings, look at semi-flush or pendant options instead
  • Power — hardwired to your home's electrical system

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — shut it off at the breaker panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
  2. Remove the fixture cover — twist or unclip the outer shade or base cover to expose the mounting plate and wiring.
  3. Install the mounting bracket — attach it to the ceiling junction box with the supplied screws, secure and level.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the junction box.
  5. Attach the fixture base — lift into place, align with the bracket, and secure with the provided screws so it sits flush against the ceiling.
  6. Reattach the cover — twist, clip, or fasten the decorative cover or diffuser back on.
  7. Restore power and test.

Good to know

  • Great for standard or low ceilings — hallways, bedrooms, closets.
  • Confirm your junction box can support the fixture's weight.
  • Follow local electrical codes.
  • When in doubt, bring in a licensed electrician.

On the build

Iron bodyturning quietly

The body is built from iron with plastic blades, weighted to turn smoothly and stay quiet overhead. Three blades move air efficiently while the motor draws just 30W. A remote handles speed, so there's no pull-cord and no reaching — you set the room's airflow from your seat.

Frequently asked

Shipping is free worldwide, with delivery in about 15–21 business days. Customisations may add a little time, and priority processing is available at checkout if you need it sooner.

Installation isn't included. It mounts to a ceiling box with the included bracket — fix the bracket, connect the wires, hang the assembly. As it's hardwired, we recommend a licensed electrician for a safe fit.

The Chert is built from iron with plastic blades — sturdy enough to turn smoothly and quietly for years, with a clean modern line that reads as a considered piece overhead.

Yes. A remote is included, and it sets the fan speed from across the room — no pull-cord, no reaching overhead. It also handles dimming if your model is configured for it.

Very. The motor draws just 30W, so it moves air through the room at a low running cost. On milder days it can do the work of air conditioning for a fraction of the power.

It comes with a 1-year manufacturer warranty, which you can extend to 2, 3, or 5 years at checkout. If anything goes wrong, our team will arrange a repair or replacement.

It suits standard flat and lightly sloped ceilings, mounted on a downrod to a ceiling box. For very high or vaulted ceilings, a longer downrod may be needed — ask us and we'll advise.

Quiet. The three-blade design and balanced motor turn smoothly without the hum, so it moves air through the room while keeping the space calm — easy to run while you sleep or work.

No — the Chert is made for indoor ceilings only, as the iron and plastic build isn't rated for damp or weather. For covered outdoor spaces, choose a weather-rated fan instead.

Dust the blades and body with a soft cloth now and then. For a deeper clean, use a damp cloth with mild soap with the power off. Check the fixings occasionally so it stays secure.
