Installation Guide

Includes the solid-brass plate, toggle mechanism, and mounting hardware. A straightforward swap for an existing switch — power off, match the wires, screw the plate back on.

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power at your breaker or fuse box.
  2. Remove the old cover plate — unscrew it and set it aside.
  3. Take out the old switch — unscrew it from the box and ease it out to reach the wiring.
  4. Disconnect the wires — loosen the screws, or if back-inserted, cut and strip the ends.
  5. Wire the new toggle — live to the brass/black screw, neutral to silver (if your switch uses one), ground to the green screw. Tighten each.
  6. Secure the switch — tuck the wires back, align the toggle, fasten with the included screws.
  7. Fit the brass plate over the switch and screw it in.
  8. Power back on at the panel.
  9. Test — toggle up and down; the light or device should switch cleanly.

Will they patina over time?

Yes — solid brass develops a natural patina with handling and exposure over time. Polished brass brightens first before mellowing; antique finish deepens. Each piece becomes uniquely worn.

Do they work with 3-way or single pole?

The Galten Switch is 1-way (single pole) compatible. It does not support 3-way configurations. Contact us if you need a specific wiring arrangement before ordering.

Can I install these switches myself, or do I need a professional electrician?

The Galten is designed to replace standard wall switches and installs in about five minutes with basic tools. For complex configurations or dimmer setups, a certified electrician is recommended.

How many lights can I connect?

Up to 150W LED or 300W incandescent per switch component. For multiple high-wattage fixtures on a single switch, confirm total load before ordering.

Are they durable?

Solid brass construction — no plastic to crack or fade. The UL-listed components are rated for everyday residential and commercial use and built to remain functional for decades.

How long does it take to receive my custom brass light switches after placing an order?

Custom orders are made to spec and typically ship within 3–5 business days. Delivery takes 15–21 business days worldwide. Free worldwide shipping included.

Can I return or exchange my custom brass light switch if I'm not satisfied?

Because each switch is configured to your specification, returns are assessed case by case. Contact our support team within 14 days of delivery and we will work out a resolution.

Do you offer bulk discounts for larger orders or commercial projects?

Yes — contact us with your project details and quantities. We work with interior designers and commercial clients on project pricing for larger orders.

What finish options are available?

Three: polished brass (bright and precise), brushed brass (matte and warm), and antique brass (aged from the start). All are applied to solid brass — no plating over a base metal.

Is the dimmer compatible with smart home systems?

The rotary dimmer uses triac dimming, compatible with most dimmable LED and incandescent bulbs. For smart switch configuration with home-automation systems, contact us at the time of ordering.
