Before you begin

Mounting — direct to a standard ceiling junction box; sits close against the ceiling

What you'll need

Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
Wire nuts (included), ladder
Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

Turn off the power — shut it off at the breaker panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
Remove the fixture cover — twist or unclip the outer shade or base cover to expose the mounting plate and wiring.
Install the mounting bracket — attach it to the ceiling junction box with the supplied screws, secure and level.
Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the junction box.
Attach the fixture base — lift into place, align with the bracket, and secure with the provided screws so it sits flush against the ceiling.
Reattach the cover — twist, clip, or fasten the decorative cover or diffuser back on.
Restore power and test.

The Congestus is built on an iron base with acrylic diffuser panels shaped into star and burst forms. The iron gives it structural rigidity — it mounts securely and won't flex over time. The acrylic diffusers spread the integrated LED across each arm, so the light output is even and warm rather than concentrated at a single point. The colourways — pink or multicolour — are applied to the acrylic, not a surface coat.

The Congestus mounts to a standard ceiling junction box — the canopy covers the electrical connection and the fixture hangs flush to the ceiling. All mounting hardware is included; a certified electrician should make the electrical connection.

Yes — it hardwires to a standard ceiling junction box rather than plugging into a wall socket. It operates on 90–260V AC, compatible with residential supply in Europe, North America, and most global markets.

How long do the LEDs last?

The integrated LED is rated for 50,000 hours — at four hours a day that's over 34 years, well past when the room's purpose will likely change. There are no replaceable bulbs; the LED is built into the fitting.

Can this fixture be mounted on both ceiling and wall?

It's designed primarily as a ceiling mount. The flush-mount canopy and the way the arms spread horizontally make ceiling installation the intended configuration. Wall mounting isn't part of the design intent.
