Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

Iron arms spreading — glass held at each tip

The Dichroic's structure is pure iron — bent arms, a central canopy, and individual glass holders at each tip. The glass gives each head just enough diffusion to soften the E14 LED without obscuring it. The arms radiate outward at a slight downward angle, which distributes light across the table and walls rather than concentrating it directly below the canopy. The black and gold finishes apply to all iron elements; the glass is clear in both cases.

How do I install this fixture?

The Dichroic mounts to a standard ceiling junction box using a pipe-erected system — the suspension rod threads into the canopy, and the arms and glass holders connect below. Full hardware is included; an electrician should make the mains connection.

Yes — the Dichroic is designed specifically for LED E14 bulbs. The included bulbs are LED from the outset; using standard incandescent E14s instead would generate more heat but would also fit the socket.

What voltage does it operate on?

90–260V AC — compatible with residential supply in Europe, North America, Australia, and most global markets. No voltage adapter is required.

Is it suitable for historical homes?

The Dichroic's multi-arm form has a classical reference, and the gold finish in particular reads well in period interiors. The LED bulbs and adjustable suspension are modern, but the visual language of the fixture suits older architectural contexts.

Does it come with a mounting bracket?

Yes — the ceiling canopy, mounting bracket, and all installation hardware are included. The adjustable cord goes up to 1 m, so it works at a range of ceiling heights without modification.

How do I maintain its finish?
