Installation Guide

Most wall lamps are a simple bracket-and-wire job — but check your power type first, since hardwired, plug-in, and rechargeable models each install a little differently.

Before you begin

Dimming — most socketed lamps dim; integrated-LED models don't
Power — hardwired, plug-in, or rechargeable depending on the model; check your product details
Mounting — wall-mount, hardware included
Indoor/outdoor — confirm your model is rated for outdoor use before installing outside

What you'll need

Screwdriver
Wire nuts (included for hardwired models)
Voltage tester
Power drill (for new mounting locations)

Step by step

Identify your power type — hardwired, plug-in, or rechargeable. Follow the steps below for yours.
If hardwired: turn off the power — switch off at your main electrical panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
If hardwired: remove the old lamp — unscrew it and disconnect the wires by removing the wire nuts.
If hardwired: attach the new mounting bracket — align it with your junction box or marked wall location and secure with the included screws.
If hardwired: connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Twist and secure with wire nuts, then tuck neatly into the junction box.
If hardwired: mount the fixture — align with the bracket and secure with the provided screws.
If hardwired: install the bulb — correct type and wattage, if your model uses one.
If hardwired: restore power and test.
If plug-in: mount the bracket — with anchors or screws, then attach the fixture and plug it into a nearby outlet. Route the cord neatly.
If rechargeable: mount the bracket — with screws and anchors, fully charge the lamp with the included cable, then install it onto the bracket and power on.

One housing — two apertures, opposite directions

Most wall lamps point in one direction. The Arbois integrates two apertures into the same compact housing, each with its own LED pointed in the opposite direction. The upward beam grazes the wall surface above; the downward beam lights the path below — together creating a vertical column of illumination from a single mounting point. The aluminium housing forms in one piece, keeping the profile tight against the wall with no visible joints.

Is this fixture suitable for all weather conditions?

The Arbois is designed for permanent outdoor use. The formed aluminium construction handles rain and temperature variation. In coastal or high-humidity environments, wipe the exterior periodically to extend the finish's lifespan.

What materials are used in the construction?

The body is formed aluminium in a matte black finish — one piece, no separate glass or plastic elements that could separate over time in outdoor conditions. Two integrated LED apertures are built into the housing.

How long does the average installation take?

Physical mounting to a prepared wall takes 30–60 minutes for a qualified electrician. Wiring time depends on whether a circuit is already present at the location. We recommend professional installation for all outdoor mains-connected fixtures.

Does it come with a warranty?

All Nava Decor fixtures include a 1-year warranty as standard, extendable to 2 or 3 years. Contact us after purchase to discuss extended coverage.

Is it compatible with smart home systems?

The Arbois is a standard hardwired fixture — not natively smart-home compatible. It can be controlled via a smart switch or relay on the wall circuit if your system supports that configuration.

How energy-efficient is this fixture?

At 3W or 6W, the Arbois draws very little power. The 6W version at 6 hours per night consumes roughly 13 kWh per year — a fraction of a comparable halogen fixture.

Can it be installed on any type of exterior wall?

Yes — the Arbois mounts with standard wall anchors included in the box. Brick, render, timber cladding, and composite panel all work. Your electrician will select the appropriate anchor for your surface.

What is the expected lifespan of the lights?

Integrated LEDs in outdoor fixtures of this type typically last 30,000–50,000 hours. At 6 hours per night, that is 13–22 years of use before output meaningfully declines.

How does the up-and-down illumination enhance the ambiance?

The two opposing beams graze the wall surface in both directions, creating a vertical column of lit texture. This marks an entrance or architectural feature without any additional fixtures.

Is maintenance required for optimal performance?

Minimal — wipe the exterior with a damp cloth once or twice a year to clear dust and debris from the apertures. The sealed LED housing requires no servicing.
