Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

Most chandeliers distribute across a horizontal plane — they fill a room's width. The Harlingen distributes vertically, filling the height of a stairwell or double-height entrance with a column of crystal and light. The round cross-section means the fixture reads identically from every landing and every angle of approach. As the light source fires, the acrylic crystals scatter the beam in all directions — no dark zones, no bright focal point.

Iron central column and hardware in gold or black finish, with acrylic crystal elements arranged around the column. Acrylic is used rather than cut glass for the strength-to-weight ratio at these lengths.

Is this fixture compatible with dimmer switches?

No — the integrated LED is not currently configured for dimming. If dimming is a requirement for the installation, contact us before ordering and we can advise on available options.

The integrated LEDs produce 110 lm/W — a 30-light, 150W configuration delivers 16,500 lm, equivalent to a conventional chandelier using ten times the wattage in traditional bulbs.

The Harlingen ships in sections for safe transit at these lengths. On-site assembly is required before hanging. All connection hardware is included; professional installation is strongly recommended given the weight and scale.

Are the crystals real or synthetic?

Acrylic — a clear, lightweight polymer that refracts light with similar visual effect to cut glass. Acrylic is the correct material choice at lengths above 2 m, where the weight of real glass becomes a structural concern.

How do I clean and maintain this fixture?

Dust the acrylic crystals with a dry soft cloth or microfibre duster. For more thorough cleaning, individual crystal elements can be wiped with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners on the iron column or electrical components.

What is the estimated delivery time?

Free worldwide shipping takes 15–21 business days from dispatch. Given the size and packaging requirements of the larger configurations, processing may take 3–7 business days before dispatch.

Can this fixture be installed on sloped ceilings?

The Harlingen is designed primarily for flat ceilings above stairwells and double-height entrances. Sloped-ceiling installation depends on the pitch and the configuration selected — contact us to assess your specific ceiling before ordering.

Is professional installation recommended?

Yes — strongly. The larger configurations weigh up to approximately 90 kg and reach 9 m in length. Ceiling load capacity, structural fixings, and the electrical connection all require professional assessment and installation.
