Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

At 1.5 cm diameter the aluminium tube is narrow enough that the fitting recedes and the light becomes the focal point. The integrated LED runs the full interior length of the tube. Three sizes — 30, 40, and 50 cm — each one a complete composition at a different scale.

Is the installation process easy?

The Galley mounts to a standard ceiling junction box via the included canopy and cord. All hardware is included. Professional installation by a certified electrician is recommended.

What materials are used in the product?

Solid aluminium tube body — lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and temperature-stable. The finish is applied over the aluminium for a consistent tone that won't peel or chip.

How do I adjust the light modes?

The three colour modes — warm, natural, and cool white — are switched via the wall switch or a compatible multi-mode switch. No separate remote or app is required.

Is the product compatible with dimmer switches?

No — the integrated LED is not dimmable. The three colour modes provide some degree of mood control, but brightness is fixed at full output.

How energy-efficient is the light?

3W integrated LED outputs 330 lm — efficient enough for an accent or bedside pendant and well-suited to tight spaces where a higher wattage fitting would be excessive.

What is the expected lifespan of the LEDs?

50,000 hours — roughly 17 years at 8 hours daily. The LED is integrated and does not require replacement over the normal service life of the fitting.

Does the product come with a warranty?

1-year warranty as standard, extendable to 2 or 3 years. Contact us at your order email if you have a claim and we'll resolve it quickly.

Is the finish resistant to fading and temperature changes?

Yes — the aluminium body and its finish are rated for the temperature variations of normal indoor use. The finish will not yellow or fade under standard lighting conditions.
