Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
Power — hardwired to your mains supply
Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
Wire nuts (included), ladder
Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
Power on and test.

Follow your local electrical codes.
For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

The black aluminium frame and cables disappear visually against most ceilings, leaving the glowing spheres as the focal element. Does the Castell Chandelier come with a dimmable option?

Yes — dimming is available on request. Specify it when ordering and we'll configure the fixture before shipping. A compatible wall dimmer is required and not included.

Can the dimmable version be used with a wall dimmer switch?

Yes — the dimmable configuration is compatible with a standard phase-cut wall dimmer. We recommend specifying the dimmer brand you plan to use so we can confirm compatibility before dispatch.

What material is the Castell Chandelier made of?

Aluminium — the full frame, cables, and spherical heads are aluminium in a matte black finish. Aluminium is lightweight for its size, corrosion-resistant, and holds its black finish without flaking or peeling.

Twelve configurations from one head to thirty-eight. Each step up adds more spheres and increases the output — from a single 5W pendant over a bedside table to a 190W installation for large double-height spaces.

What is the finish colour of this chandelier?

Matte black throughout — frame, cables, and sphere bodies. The black finish makes the structural elements recede visually, leaving the glowing spheres as the dominant feature.

Are the pendant heads adjustable in height?

The individual heads hang at factory-set lengths that create the varied-depth composition. For bespoke height configurations, contact our team before ordering — custom drops are available on request.

What type of rooms is it best suited for?

Contemporary dining rooms, living areas, double-height entryways, offices, and commercial spaces. Smaller configurations (1–6 heads) work in bedrooms and over kitchen islands; larger ones (15–38 heads) are designed for impressive volume spaces.

Is installation easy?

The Castell hardwires to a ceiling junction box. Larger configurations are substantial in weight and spread — professional installation by a certified electrician is strongly recommended for all configurations.

How is the lighting performance?

Each 5W head produces 550 lm — a warm, localised glow per sphere. In larger clusters the combined output is substantial: the 38-head configuration delivers 20,900 lm across a wide spread, suited to very large rooms.

Does it fit different interior styles?
