Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

The column runs straight — each head sits on a fixed arm off the central drop cord, spaced evenly. The cord is adjustable to 2 m, so the bottom head clears landings and turns without crowding the space. In black, the fixture disappears against a dark stairwell wall; in gold, it becomes the vertical line the eye follows going up.

What is the return policy?

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery. Items must be in original, unused condition. Contact our team to initiate — we will arrange collection or provide a return label.

What is the warranty period?

A 1-year warranty is included, covering manufacturing defects in the iron frame and electrical components. Extensions to 2, 3, or 5 years are available — contact us at the time of purchase.

Are the LED lights energy-efficient?

Yes. Each head draws 6W and delivers 600 lm — the equivalent of a 40W incandescent at a fraction of the running cost. A 15-head fixture at 90W provides 9000 lm.

Is the Altenahr Chandelier dimmable?

Yes, with the optional remote control. The remote adjusts brightness and shifts colour temperature between warm white (3000K) and cool white (6000K). An app-controlled version is also available.

Can the chandelier be installed in staircases?

Yes — it is specifically designed for staircases and double-height spaces. The adjustable cord extends to 2 m, and the column of heads follows the vertical line of the stairwell naturally.

Does it come with a remote control?

The remote control option is available but not included as standard. Specify the remote or app-control upgrade at the time of order.

How do I clean and maintain the chandelier?

Wipe the iron frame with a dry cloth. The acrylic elements can be cleaned with a damp lint-free cloth. Turn the fixture off and allow it to cool before cleaning.

Is professional installation required?

Yes — the fixture is hardwired and staircase installations mean working at height. A certified electrician will ensure the cord is set at the right drop and the ceiling mount is secure.
