Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

What materials are used in the construction?

The body is iron coated in matte paint; the mount ring and accent elements are wood. Both materials are chosen for durability and the way the matte finish holds colour without peeling or fading over time.

How durable is the paint finish?

The matte paint is non-toxic and formulated to resist fading from UV and heat. It's applied to iron, which doesn't flex or crack, so the finish holds its tone through years of regular use.

Are the colors fade-resistant?

Yes — the pigment is fade-resistant and the matte topcoat protects against UV exposure. The colour reads the same six months in as on day one, in most interior lighting conditions.

Is the fixture anti-corrosion and rust-resistant?

Yes — the iron body is coated and sealed, making it resistant to corrosion in normal interior conditions. It's designed for indoor use; we don't recommend it in high-humidity unventilated spaces.

How easy is it to install?

Straightforward for a standard hardwired pendant: mount the canopy to a junction box, attach the cord, and connect the wires. Sloped-ceiling hardware is included. Professional installation is recommended for hardwired fixtures.

Does it include all necessary mounting hardware?

Yes — the canopy, mounting bracket, and all hardware are included. An E27 bulb is not included; any standard E27 LED up to 10W works.

Is the light LED and energy-efficient?

It's designed for a single E27 LED bulb (not included). At 10W, a quality E27 LED produces around 800–1000 lm — efficient for the task or accent role this pendant is built for.

Can the height be adjusted?

Yes — the cord adjusts to a maximum of 1 m. Set it low over a reading chair or table, or leave it higher for a wider spread. Excess cord tucks cleanly into the canopy.

What rooms is it best suited for?

Living rooms, kitchens, dining nooks, offices, and bedside positions — anywhere you want a directed pool of light with a clean, minimal form. It works as a single pendant or in a cluster of three.

Does it create a uniform illumination?

The shade shape produces a uniform downward cone with very little glare at the sides — consistent across the surface beneath it, comfortable to work or read under.
