Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

Is installation hardware included?

Yes — the canopy, cord, and ceiling mounting hardware are included. A certified electrician is recommended for the hardwired connection; after that, adjusting the cord height is straightforward.

Is this fixture suitable for high ceilings?

It works well at any height — the cord adjusts to 1.2 m, and the compact 24 cm dome reads cleanly whether hung low over a bedside or higher in a larger room. For very high ceilings, extended cord is available on request.

What materials are used in its construction?

The dome is aluminium; the base element is wood. Aluminium keeps the finish precise and even; wood adds a warmer touch at the junction point. Both materials are durable and easy to clean.

Does it come with LED bulbs?

No — an E27 LED bulb is not included with the Boppard. Any standard E27 LED fits the fixture. We recommend a warm white (2700–3000K) bulb to complement the seven available finishes.

How do I clean and maintain it?

Wipe the aluminium dome with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. The wood element should be dusted dry — avoid moisture on it. No special products needed; the aluminium finish doesn't require polishing.

Can it be used in a damp area?

The Boppard is rated for dry indoor use only. It's not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor covered areas, or any space with high humidity. For bathroom-adjacent placement, consult an electrician about safe positioning.

Is professional installation recommended?

Yes — the Boppard is hardwired to a standard ceiling junction box. A certified electrician should make the connection. Once installed, adjusting height or replacing the E27 bulb is simple to do yourself.

Does it come with a warranty?

Yes — a 1-year warranty is included, covering manufacturing defects. Extended coverage to 2 or 3 years is available on request. Contact us to arrange before or after purchase.
