Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I install it myself or do I need an electrician?

Professional installation by a certified electrician is recommended. The Casing hardwires to a standard ceiling junction box — all mounting hardware is included, but mains wiring should be handled by a qualified professional.

What materials are used in its construction?

Glass spheres on a solid iron circular frame. The G9 LED bulbs sit inside the glass shades. The iron frame and cord suspension are built to carry the weight of the glass cluster securely — the 9-head version weighs 8 kg.

How long do the LED lights last?

G9 LEDs are rated for 50,000 hours under normal use. If a bulb fails, G9 is a standard base — replacements are widely available in any hardware or lighting store.

Is it suitable for high ceilings?

Yes — the adjustable cord extends to 1.2 m from the canopy, making it suitable for ceilings up to around 3–3.5 m. For higher ceilings, contact us to discuss an extended cord option.

What color options are available for the metal frame?

The iron frame finish options are grey, clear, red, and white — these refer to the glass sphere colour, not the frame itself. The iron frame is standard. The glass colour changes the tone of the refracted light significantly.

Does it come with all necessary mounting hardware?

Yes — ceiling canopy, cord, and all mounting hardware are included. The G9 LED bulbs are also included, one per head. Everything needed for installation is in the box.

How do I adjust the height?

The cord adjusts from the ceiling canopy up to 1.2 m. During installation, set the length before securing the canopy — your electrician can help you set the right height for the room.

Is it energy efficient?

Yes. G9 LEDs produce strong lumen output at low wattage. The 9-head configuration runs at 45W while producing 4,500 lumens — efficient ambient lighting for a dining or living room.

Does it produce a warm or cool light?

The included G9 LEDs produce a warm white light. Clear and white glass spheres let this warmth through cleanly; grey glass softens it further; red glass tints the output warm amber. Choose your glass colour based on the tone you want in the room.

Is it safe to use in a dining room?

Yes — the Casing is certified to UL, CE, and a range of international safety standards and is designed for residential use including dining rooms, entryways, and bedrooms. The cord is rated for the weight of the cluster it supports.
