Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

What type of lighting modes are available?

Three colour modes via the included remote: warm white, neutral white, and cool white. Each mode is also dimmable, giving you a wide range of atmosphere from one fixture.

How do I adjust the height?

The four suspension cables adjust to 1.2 m from ceiling to fixture. During installation, set each cable to the same length for a level hang — hardware and instructions are included.

Is the Tiller Pendant Light dimmable?

Yes — the remote dims the integrated LED across all three colour modes. No wall dimmer is required; the remote controls both brightness and colour from anywhere in the room.

How long do the LEDs last?

The Tiller's integrated LED is rated at 50,000 hours — over 17 years at 8 hours daily. Nothing to replace; the LED assembly is a permanent part of the fixture.

What voltage is required?

90–260V — compatible with both North American and international electrical systems without any transformer or adapter.

Can it be mounted on any ceiling?

The Tiller mounts to a standard ceiling junction box. It is sloped-ceiling compatible. Both hanging and flush ceiling-mount versions are available in the same two sizes.

Is the installation hardware included?

Yes — all mounting hardware, the canopy, and a junction box for mounting are included. Professional installation by a certified electrician is recommended for the hardwired connection.

Is the light energy-efficient?

Yes — the integrated LED runs at 88W or 108W depending on size, producing up to 11,880 lm. For the output delivered, it consumes significantly less energy than equivalent halogen or fluorescent fixtures.
