Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

The shade is moulded from fiberglass-reinforced resin — smooth and clean on the exterior, deliberately textured inside to scatter and soften the light source.

Is the light temperature adjustable?

Yes — the fitting accepts E27 LEDs in four colour modes (warm white, cool white, neutral, and trichromatic). Choose your preferred temperature when selecting the bulb.

How energy-efficient is this light?

Very — the included 15W LED delivers 1500 lm, matching a 75W incandescent at one-fifth the energy draw. Rated 50,000 hours of operating life.

Does it come with a warranty?

Yes — 1-year warranty included, extendable to 2 or 3 years. If anything fails in normal use during that period, we'll sort it at no charge.

How do I install this light?

Ceiling-mounted to a standard junction box; the adjustable cord runs to 1.5 m. Sloped-ceiling compatible. Professional installation by a certified electrician is recommended.

What type of lighting modes are available?

The fitting is compatible with E27 LEDs in warm white (3000K), neutral white (4000K), cool white (6000K), and trichromatic. Mood depends on the bulb you choose.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

No — the Jib is rated for indoor use only. It suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining spaces, and entryways with sufficient ceiling clearance.

Is the Jib Pendant Light dimmable?

On request — let us know when ordering and we'll configure it for dimming. Standard delivery is non-dimmable; the fitting accepts dimmable E27 LEDs.

How long do the LEDs last?

The included LED is rated 50,000 hours — roughly 17 years at eight hours a day. When it does reach the end of its life, any standard E27 LED replaces it.

Does it come with all necessary mounting hardware?

Yes — canopy, adjustable cord to 1.5 m, and mounting hardware are all included. A ceiling junction box is required; your electrician will need to connect to mains wiring.
