Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

Thrown on the wheel — texture lives in the wall

Ceramic thrown on a potter's wheel carries the maker's marks in the wall thickness and surface variation — this piece is not pressed from a mould, so the texture at the rim and exterior is slightly inconsistent between units. The cream glaze is applied after drying, which softens but does not erase the surface character. The wood cap is turned from a single piece.

What type of bulb does it use?

G9 LED — a bi-pin capsule base, common in pendant and spotlight fittings. One bulb is included. When it eventually needs replacing, any G9 LED in 5W or under will fit.

Is the light bulb included?

Yes — one G9 LED bulb is included in the box. Choose a warm-white temperature (2700–3000K) to best complement the cream ceramic body and wood cap.
