Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

How easy is the installation process?

Ceiling-mounted to a standard junction box — attach the canopy, thread and adjust the cord, then connect the wiring. Professional installation by a certified electrician is recommended.

Does it come with a warranty?

Is the light fixture dimmable?

Yes, on request — let us know at checkout and we'll configure it for dimmer compatibility. Dimming this lamp is especially rewarding given how beautifully alabaster responds to lower light levels.

How do I clean and maintain it?

Wipe the alabaster gently with a dry or slightly damp cloth — no abrasive cleaners, which can scratch the stone. The copper frame can be wiped with a soft cloth. Dust the shade monthly to maintain the glow.

Is it suitable for damp locations?

No — this pendant is rated for dry indoor use only. It's not suitable for bathrooms, covered outdoor spaces, or anywhere with regular moisture or steam exposure.

Can it be used with LED bulbs?

Yes — it ships with an E27 LED included. If you replace it, use an E27 LED up to 15W. The alabaster diffuses the light best when the source is warm white (2700–3000K).

What type of ceiling mount is required?

A standard ceiling junction box — the included canopy attaches directly to it. The cord adjusts to a maximum of 1.5 m, and the fitting is compatible with sloped ceilings.

Does it require professional installation?

We recommend it — a certified electrician can ensure the wiring is connected safely and the pendant hangs level. Once installed, there's no maintenance beyond occasional cleaning.
