Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

Good to know

Travertine — veined through and through

Yellow travertine forms across limestone cavities over thousands of years — the mineral lines and tonal shifts in the Fell are the stone's own record of that process. No surface treatment creates them; they're cut through the material itself.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Natural veining

Every travertine shade carries its own pattern — no two pieces of stone cut identically.

Dual direction

The flared rim releases light upward as well as down, softening the glow across the ceiling.

Low maintenance

Natural stone surfaces wipe clean with a dry cloth — no special sealants or treatments required.

Frequently Asked Questions

What materials is the Fell pendant light made from?

The shade is carved from natural yellow travertine stone, with a wood accent at the top of the canopy. The combination keeps the palette warm and organic — no synthetic materials in the visible fixture.

Can this light fixture be used in any room?

It suits dining rooms, kitchens, entryways, and living spaces well. It's designed for dry indoor use — not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor areas with moisture exposure.

Is the Fell light dimmable?

Yes, on request. Let us know at checkout and we'll configure the bulb and fitting for dimming compatibility. It works with most standard wall dimmers once configured.

What type of bulb is compatible with the Fell light?

The Fell uses an E27 base — a standard size available from any lighting or hardware retailer. The included 10W LED bulb is a good starting point, and you can swap it for any E27 LED to adjust the warmth or brightness.

How should I clean and maintain the Fell pendant light?

A dry or barely damp cloth across the travertine surface is all it needs. Avoid abrasive cleaners or excess moisture near the stone. The wood canopy should be kept dry. Dust the shade occasionally and wipe when needed.

Does it come with a height-adjustable cord?

Yes — the cord adjusts up to 1.2 m, so you can set the hanging height to suit your ceiling and the surface below. The sloped-ceiling canopy is also compatible with angled ceilings.

Is the installation process complex?

It hardwires to a standard ceiling junction box. We recommend installation by a certified electrician — the fitting itself is straightforward, but working with mains wiring should always be done safely.

What styles does this light fixture complement?

The natural stone and wood combination suits contemporary, organic-modern, rustic, and warm-neutral interiors. It reads quietly against a white or plaster ceiling and anchors a dining table or island without overwhelming the room.

What is the warranty period for this product?

The Fell comes with a 1-year warranty as standard. Extended coverage of 2 or 3 years is available — contact us after purchase to arrange. Nava's warranty covers manufacturing defects under normal use conditions.

Can I install it in a damp area like a bathroom?

No — the Fell is rated for dry indoor areas only. Natural travertine and wood components are not suited to high-humidity environments like bathrooms or steam rooms. For bathroom lighting, look for IP44-rated fixtures.
